Reviews for Sometimes the World Stops
Hawki chapter 1 . 12/22/2015
It's been ages since I've played Twilight Princess, so I probably missed some of the character references. Zelda, Midna and Link are obvious, and I think Rusl featured in as well for instance, but...well, yeah.

Then again, faulty memory is my problem, ot the fic's. And the fic itself is very well written. It isn't easy to read given how it's formatted, but it does hit home, given how it delivers its narrative in short, sharp sentences. So good job.
Pseudo Twili chapter 1 . 12/4/2015
How very sad this is! And very much like the game, too. I was must admit that I felt rather depressed when I first finished the game, and this oneshot of yours captures that feeling. You used no names, which is great because then the reader has to figure out which paragraph is depicting who. For something that you 'barfed up', this is excellent!
Imagination that chapter 1 . 11/22/2015
Actually I like the ending of this, it fits well with the overall feel of the game. I enjoy the difference in views you have in this with the varying characters and how they progress through the story. Nicely done with this.
LyraCat chapter 1 . 11/19/2015
Dang it.
Every freaking time you kill me with your angst. ;_;

Anyway, this was amazing (even if my utterly worn-out mind wasn't able to fully digest it all) and I thought you approached it with a great and unique angle.

(The "barfed up some words" part pretty accurately describes this review considering my exhaustion. Sorry about my pathetic-ness. :P)
VakaPyro chapter 1 . 11/19/2015
The scars of the Twilight cut deep yes? The world stopped and so did they. When it started again as if nothing had happened though, they moved in an altogether different direction, at a different pace. This feels like an allegory for war and what it takes and twists its victims into.

To cut my pretension short, I really enjoyed this rather bleak but honest story. I really like the narrative-style, the changing perspectives. Not just by how the viewpoint shift, but also how it evolves from happiness and ignorance, to... something new. Yet everyone else remains the same, which is why Link leaves forever, Ilia forgets and regrets, Rusl walks with a heavy-heart, Zelda no-longer a picturesque figure and Midna... All in all I enjoyed how you concisely summarised their characterisation as it happened, it felt fresh whilst not exactly pleasing...

Anyway, you've done a great job here in-spite of 'barfing up the words'. You really make me wonder you know? If this was a rush-job and it's as good as this, then... But thank you so much for writing what you can, you know I love it!

P.S. Have you preordered it yet? Despite how it may perhaps 'cheapen' what we've come to know all this time, I sorely wish for a 'choice' at the end... Maybe they might just give us that in this remake.
...Furthermore, If you have Hyrule Warriors and also have the Twilight Princess DLC, with the addition of Linkle (female Link), there will be a co-op campaign featuring her and Midna as partners. Not quite the same (lol), but I'll be playing it nonetheless!

Again, thank you very much for writing!
chaosoulg chapter 1 . 11/19/2015
That's... a rather grim reminder of the heart wrenching ending. I wanna say I enjoyed it, but I think I rather cry.
godtierGrammarian chapter 1 . 11/19/2015
Of all the stories and one-shots you've written, this one's probably my favorite. I don't know why, it just resonates within me, it almost feels like something I would've written (especially the part about barfing up some words... that's me, alright). In particular I love the image of Link tripping on the word "hero," falling into a darkness so deep he'll never return. It's just so... apt, I suppose. And as for the tone, I think it's fitting; Twilight Princess is not a hopeful game, not really. It ends with a broken mirror and Link riding away, all we see is his back, and then he's gone. Can't wait for this game to wrench my heart out all over again... in HD! This is a wonderful homage to a wonderful game. Thanks for this.
