Very good. Jane in his element...Lisbon there to bring him to ground him as usual. I understand her reasoning of him being not alone but it's not the same, is it?

Lisbon means a whole lot more than anyone she mentioned. She gave him purpose, guided him somewhat, supported him, she's his everything. She has a family...3 brothers long before she knew Jane. He had already lost his family so opening up and losing all over once again must be unimaginable for him. Hence his reluctance to declare his feelings in canon and number 3(child). Their child will give him purpose to live even if she's no more.
Cho, Rigsby, Van Pelt are friends but they're not close anymore, are they? Even to Lisbon they're somewhat distant. Yes friends but close friends? Maybe in this universe here they're close.

Briefly reviewed previous chapters and remembered how much I was enjoying this story, so very pleased you plan to finish it. Great development of Jane's and Lisbon's relationship and the clever use of familiar characters.

Well, things are coming together. Glad the team is making the distinction between a dirty cop (as in, motivated by greed) versus someone trying to protect another (not that it would make Volker's targets any less dead). Had to re-read from the start to pick up the thread of the story. Looking forward to Jane's plot, er, plan.
