yaoiaiss chapter 1 . 12/3/2019 great story |
Blinded in a bolthole chapter 1 . 7/24/2018 An excellent story. At least this time around the Red Woman didn't taint Stannis. |
Basker chapter 1 . 9/9/2017 That was so good! I have tears in my eyes for some reason. I'm so glad Davos is alive! |
Hektols chapter 1 . 7/2/2017 A very interesting outcome, it's the first time I read a fic with Stannis bending the knee to Renly and then becoming the power behind the Throne. |
Guest chapter 1 . 4/25/2017 So Out of character. Not just in the initial alliance. That can be accepted for the fics premise. But Stannis leading from the front? That is show only. He is a rear commander like Tywin, in the books. Also it would be entirely in his interest to let Renly command from the front, you know to let him die and Stannis to rule. He certainty isn't going to charge into three arrows. Nor should he be that damaged, considering he should be in good armor. Also Renly giving a shit about the city people is OOC as fuck. He was the one who engaged in the starvation march in canon. You know conduct a drawn out march, while keeping food from getting to the city. He doesn't give a fuck about the commoners. Nor should be give a fuck about Rosby taking out Tommen. Punishing people that side with you is a great way to lose support. This fic bitching about 'muh children' is fucking bullshit. He supported a coup against the Lannisters. He was the one that marched to slay his elder brother, all for lust of a crown. He was planning to replace Cersei and her children with Margaery before Robert died. Also on the Rosby issue. Tyrion had thrown Rosby out of his castle, and it was Jacelyn Bywater holding Tommen. All those people in the throne room accepting Cersei murder them all. What. Cersei might not want to be taken alive, but most of those there could have bent the knee and survive. Finally why repeat the oh no Davos is dead, oh wait he is alive. It all gets resolved in the same chapter and is just mindless echoing of canon. |
Jellybean chapter 1 . 9/28/2016 Huh... this is interesting! I can't wait to see what the next chapter holds! |
ChappaEyebrow chapter 1 . 1/1/2016 This is a wonderful story. I'm glad I found it! I hope it's posted on AO3 (my usual haunt) - I've just begun reading Stannis-oriented fic, so there are many I haven't seen. Well done, and I hope to reads more by you! |
Zachariah1337 chapter 1 . 9/11/2015 This is an interesting premise. Looking forward to learning the consequences of the baratheon victory across westeros |
Guest chapter 1 . 9/6/2015 Great story, I really like it |
Radio Free Death chapter 1 . 9/4/2015 I believe this is a nice AU! You captured Stannis' acidic, deadpan personality, but not quite his stubborness. It just seemed way too easy for Stannis to bend the knee to Renly after asserting what he already believed in that he didn't really want to sit the throne. I mean, Stannis basically went on for pages over how the throne was his by rights, and his personal preferences be dammed. The same goes for Renly. He didn't seem to mind that the Lannister children had to die to secure his throne in canon, and Stannis even less so. None of them would've enjoyed it, but both of them would've said it was necessary in their own way. I do have to agree that Barristan killing Mellisandrei was really random. So the vast majority of her supporters just followed Stannis after that? Even his wife? It might sound like criticism on the negative side, but I think that having it being so fast-paced might've made certain situations (like the ones I pointed out) contrived for it to fit. If the story was a series, than maybe the issues could be resolved that way where there the characters can take a breather and explain. |
SerGoldenhand chapter 1 . 9/3/2015 This is a pretty impressive piece of work. Part of me wishes that it was a little more slowly pacedI'm sure you could have made 10 or more different chapters from this alone. However, it's a great story concept and one of the best written fics out there. Keep up the good work. |
Sergeant Gross chapter 1 . 9/3/2015 Mmm I like this story although I can't imagine Stannis would ever do that. Also Barristan killing Mellisandrei is a bit random, I mean it's not like Selmy hasn't seen Red Priests before like Thoros. Well continue when you can I like it |
SergeantMatt chapter 1 . 9/3/2015 Very interesting. Just as a bit of history-nerd pedantry though, a greatsword would never be difficult for a teenager to just lift, let alone a fit man like Loras. Greatswords typically weighed around 6 lbs, 8 was very much on the high end, and extravagant ceremonial ones only hit 10 lbs. And Valyrian Steel is supposed to be lighter than normal steel. |
X59 chapter 1 . 9/2/2015 Nicely done. |
thunder18 chapter 1 . 9/2/2015 Great chapter Update soon |
