| TheEasternWind chapter 13 . 6/19/2019 Your story is enjoyable to read but Bella is such a Mary-Sue. A lot of her background is just too much. Her family was so poor they were close to starving at a point in their life, but she can play a lot of instruments, compose, do acrobatic tricks and dance and sing. She is also a bit annoying in her self-righteous way. Sure, you don't need to like how other people act all the time but sometimes it's not your place to scold everyone around you. That can be in your head but acting on every impulse is very juvenile and most of the time embarrassing to witness. Sure, for Bella it doesn't have any negative consequences. She's the Mary-Sue of the story. Her personality also contradicting. Either she is closed off and thoughtful like her father or outspoken, trusting and thoughtless/impulsive the way she always acts. Because baring your soul to some random dude you've only heard the voice of is so trusting and naive and not at all shy. I saw that you didn't want any rant or flame, but I honestly don't think this comment is flaming you. I'm just dissatisfied with the character and the choices that have been made regarding her personality and abilities. I also didn't use any swear words nor all caps. Bye. |

So I just started reading The selection by Keira Cass, and it all seemed so familier like I had read it before... rewriting a book and slapping some vampires in it isn't really "elements" is it? Same class system, same events happen... I'm sure I liked this when I read it just seems a little like you ripped off the book. |
