You know, I spend so much time being annoyed by Tony that I forget that sometimes he has his good moments. This story reminded me.

I must admit to being one of those people who say they want to be alone, when really all I want is a hug! I think I'm too proud to ask and on some occasions, if I were to just ask for a hug, I know it would set off a storm of tears, so I don't ask!

Tim doesn't show his emotions very often but the signs he is upset or angry are always there, you just need to look. Tony clearly knows the signs and he did the right thing by asking, rather than that high school attitude of pushing buttons until the situation explodes!

It's sad that Tim's dad didn't listen when Tim did tell him what he (Tim) did every day. My parents at least do that, for all of their other faults.

I like the way that you made Tony realistically both shallow and not shallow; reluctant and both willing to help ... and I guess, Tim both reluctant and willing to be helped. And probably, quite rightly, slightly terrified of what Tony's version of advice would be!

Wow. Very good. You're right, there's a lot of difference between being alone and being lonely.
