Wow! With that one line at the end you managed to turn the feelings towards this story from, "D'awww! So cute!" to gut-punching creepiness and dread.

Maybe it's because of the line about the Hokage owing his parents, or maybe it was the way the kid behaved. But despite the summary, I expected this kid to be Naruto. So finding out at the last line that it's Orochimaru? And thus all the implications about the disturbing similarities between Orochimaru and Naruto? Yeah, that was a wham! moment right there. *shudders*

Basically lovely story that packs so much in so little words. Impressive. :)

i lovw this perspective that you made and even though i already know that orochimaru is the kid, there were still chills when hiruzen finally said “orochimaru” and i couldn’t help but shudder. this was amazing. you showed a normal day and the hints that orochimaru wanted to learn all the jutsu available and how hiruzen adored orochimaru like his own son... this is really amazing
