I forgot to review this! I love how Charles says they shouldn't have regrets. He is right. Their love developed during these decades, it grew stronger. Now is their time. I'm glad he reassured her of that, and she agreed.

"They were moving together, working together, just as they always did, just as they always should." Lovely. And Charles saying how she loved her now. An old sweetheart, indeed.

I loved the detail that he now referred to Downton as "house" and their cottage as "home"! Awww :3 And I love how they can't resist each other at the end there. The old boobies!

*happy, contented, shippy sigh of happiness* What a wonderful final chapter - absolutely great. I love his little confession and I love the way they make love. And that it's just a beginning for them, not an end. It's lovely.

I'm something close to being able to form coherent thoughts now and my god, you came close, didn't you? Alright, so they had this conversation before they married but by god you nailed it (uhm... pun not intended ;)
