Reviews for Not a Broken Heart
Gustave Daae Y chapter 1 . 10/27/2018
I did always believe that Palpatine was the one that truly caused Padmé to die. But I never thought he would use her to save Vader. But honestly, makes perfect horrific sense.
I love Star Wars theories. One of my favorites that is so often overlooked in fan fictions is the one where Palpatine is sort of Anakin's father. It adds a whole new layer of "well that's messed up" to the whole thing. It also proves my point that pretty much everyone kills their own dad in this universe. Vader kills Palpatine. Luke is the one who led to Vader's death (it's a stretch but it counts). Kylo killed Han. Even general Hux ordered his father's murder.
Ah Star Wars, you always are darker than I remember.
Anyways, great one shot.

good story but while the dark side is not good at healing the dark side is good at keeping alive Vader and another sith i forgot his name are the proof that sith lord could not stay dead his body was dead and he waas killed numerous time but each time he came back cause of his pain fuelling his power in the dark side keeping him alive.
Jadaerys chapter 1 . 4/22/2017
this is really possible and i guess this theory is the most accepted by fans of what truly caused padmé's death. but i think lucas fashioned anakin and padmé from romeo and juliet and given padmé's character it's not believable that she'd rather die than be without her ani. but the scene in mustafar and in her death bed showed how she "truly, deeply loved him". her husband slaughtered the jedi, betrayed the good things she believes and then she asked him to run away with her! crazy! (i'm feeling too much anidala feels now) well, they both loved too much :(
ThunderSphinx chapter 1 . 3/9/2017
Heartbreaking but interesting. I too am familiar with the Retro Zap theory.

Although, I personally would think that if Sideous had stole Padmé's life force, he would have done it by "hacking" into her Force Bond with Anakin, rather than reaching out across the Galaxy. This would thus prevent Yoda and the jerk Obi-Wan from detecting Sideous's presence and powers at work.

Good one-shot. It's a tear-jerker for sure.

Poor Padmé! Poor Anakin! Poor Amidala! :(
And poor orphaned Luke and Leia :( :( :(((

Forever is a long time Sidious and your mistake is that you forgot that while he did turn to try to save you didn't contimplate he might do the same for his son.

Talicor chapter 1 . 5/30/2015
I cannot begin on how long this/a similiar theory was my official headcanon! xD

So happy Retro Zap brought it more to peoples' attention!

Wonderful oneshot, a treat to read this fine afternoon! Loved the descriptions, and the little peek we get into Palpatine's head, that actually reminds me of an old fic called "Synergy" that chronicles Vader and Palpatine's relationship during the former's rehabilitation.

Anywho! Loved it as always!

Lord Lelouch chapter 1 . 5/20/2015
This version of Padme's death makes much more sense than her dying of a broken heart. It makes sense that Palpatine would drain her life force to sustain Vader's plus I suspect Palpatine always planned to kill Padme regardless to ensure Vader had no one but him to be emotionally dependent on.

Personally speaking though, I believe Vader managed to hold on to life through pure fearsome will. Say what you will about Palpatine's mind games and how he played with Vader, you cannot deny that Vader had a VERY strong will. If Maul could survive being cut in half through pure will then so can Vader.

I look forward to reading your version as to why Padme dies.

I personally believe that she allowed herself to die because she knew Vader would be able to find her where ever she went through their bond. By dying she ensure Luke and Leia's safety and perhaps she had a vision of Luke redeeming Vader, which was why she was so sure there is still good in Vader.
