I like this story, I think it's cool to get the portraits involved in things, they would know a lot, seeing everything that goes on and pretty well being ignored by most people, they would have interesting things to share with someone who talked to them.

Harry does a good deed in cleaning some forgotten portraits. They help here and there during the 4th year, which has a much happier result.

I don't know how say what I really feel about your story. Most of the time I won't even read aHarry/Ginny story. JKR did her no favors in her canon books, and the movies made her such an after thought, that she only had a very few scenes in them. Everyone thought Harry and Hermione were going to get together and were quite shocked and surprised when Hermione wound up married to Ron, and Harry married to Ginny. You wrote Ginny's character as a lovely girl. I was shocked and very pleased how your story turned out. I think you've taught me not to be so opinionated, and to start reading Harry / Ginny stories, not turn these stories down just because of a Harry/ Ginny ship.

Brilliant really enjoyed this

This story is one of my favourite oneshots, especially because it sees the early development of Ginny and Harry's relationship. Harry's kind gesture to give Ginny his school robes was sweet, but I don't see why this Freya found Ginny's second hand robes funny? At least Ginny supports what she believes in and doesn't feel the need to discriminate against others based off of rank, race, wealth or intellect without just cause. Ginny is my favourite female Harry Potter character, she is fierce, intelligent, kind, but also honest even if said honesty is blunt. Your story also depicts just how similar Harry and Ginny are and how much they understand one another by using the clothing issue as common ground however, that's not the only reason, in some aspects they've both been over looked, her by her brothers in the early books and him by his relatives and Dumbldore in the fifth book. That's why it baffles me when people disparage the eventual relationship of Harry and Ginny in the books, they talk about how Ginny just has a silly little girl crush, but that simply isn't it. She is perhaps the only one who knows what Harry is going through and she is the only one in the books that can, and feels able to, disoblige Harry of foolish notions. Anyway, do you think that Dumbledore purposefully hid the Potter's will? and if so do you think in the actual books that they would've recorded who the secret keeper was? Hermione was being unfair when she told Harry not to take Ginny to Hogsmeade just because Ron wouldn't like it. Sometimes I wonder if Hermione ever tried to look at things from Harry's perspective, maybe if she had then she would have realized that the mistrust of his friends would hurt Harry the most. When Padfoot was freed I cheered by the way, he deserved to be released and it was nice to know that Harry enjoyed Christmas just because he had his family with him, and that's what Sirius is isn't he. Ginny dress and hair do sounded beautiful. Thanks for writing this story.
