I love the depiction of Peggy and her relationship with the Commandos as well as how you write Bucky's voice. You're so great at flashbacks. Bucky seeing protecting and comforting Steve as a duty is very true. I thought it was sweet how he admonished himself for being jealous of Sam.

Oh, I love the flash backs and Bucky's reactions to them as he works on trying to keep them under control and still function.

Lovely story, and him accepting the orders from Peggy at the end... gulp.

Ooh, I liked the concept of Bucky returning to duty. The element of the changing of the guard was really good. I like how it reflects the fact that Peggy is done with her watch for and over Steve, and that it's Bucky's turn again. His internal conflict popping up in between moments is also nice and keeps his character true to who he is and who he's remembering to be. Also, tying Sarah's funeral in with hers is a good balance of the past and present.

Beautiful. Loved the ending.

Powerful story, I think you should continue it to show Steve and Bucky's reunion.

Beautifully done. The nod to the changing of the guard ceremony was simply a perfect way to end this, even if there had been no one-and no need-to watch Steve's flank for seventy years, it's a fantastic little idea that Peggy had been there to do as such and now that she's gone, Bucky's willing to stop running to do so.
