Ohhhh, look, Voldemort looking out for Bella :D I rather love this. His suggestion first, with the gentle tone of his arguing and the not quite looking at her, and Bella's confusion. I cracked up at their discussion about the various activities the sisters might do together, the potentially lethal needlework first of all XD The line about changing Bella's hair, her disbelief at the notion of baking, and Voldemort's casual comment about disfigured Muggle corpses being biohazardous were also hilarious. Bella's assessment about Potions too XDDD And naturally, after a while Voldemort grew tired of the conversation and she just had to do his bidding and that was the end of it. It wouldn't be Voldemort any other way ;)

I just kept giggling at Narcissa's blissful obliviousness and Bella being in massive WTF mode during the whole baking ordeal. But Narcissa's rush of anger and protectiveness was rather grand—indeed, seeing common points was unsettling for Bella, very unexpected, but still good, whereas Narcissa's own realization about her sister was… not as comfortable. You very nicely portrayed how mind-boggling and utterly wrong she found the whole notion of consensual injury, when Bella eventually managed to get around to explaining. XD And she also couldn't wrap her mind around Bella *liking* the injuries indeed. You bet she would feel rather scared, it all was way beyond her world and understanding. The mad laughing fits after the oven accident were a very nice moment, a welcome relief for the two of them and it brought some complicity back ;) Love the line about what snakes ate… XD

And the ending was also rather meaningful—showing how Cissy wants to be nice to Bella, but is deeply unable to understand her (or in this case, show common psychology, really), whereas Voldemort completely understands her, for all of his harshness and mercilessness, and in such cases he could prove unsettlingly protective. That must have come as such a shock to her, in the light of the day's events and what she had assumed before especially—here in a way, the Dark Lord respected her sister more than she did herself, in a way. It was not entirely a matter of respect, but seeing her for who she was, but the point still stands. And it proved that the relationship she deemed as so strange and wrong did have some things going for it… She couldn't pretend to know what they shared, really. Very interesting :)

Ooh! I love this story (I started following this from the first chapter... sorry I didn't review!) a lot. I'm a diehard fan for Bellamort so seeing the early actions between Voldemort and Bellatrix makes me extremely happy! I really like your writing style - I especially like this chapter with Walburga's calm tone, the other two sisters attitudes towards Bellatrix's tendencies towards violence and Tom acting as the soother to the hysterics. And I also like how Bellatrix doesn't just give herself to him, until he promises to give her something in return - the final two lines made me smile a bit. In other chapters you've made me feel bad for Tom (wEIRD) and I enjoyed all those a lot (especially chapter 2. I guess you can sense a pattern forming here...). I'm looking forward to the next chapter! :D

*grins* Pretty cool—and ah, this is the fic in which you added servants as well as elves, yes? ;) But anyway. Love your portrayal of the lovely exotic bird Tom brought back without much of an elaborate explanation about its origins, and the description of the stunning room the cage was in. Poor Cissy's heartbreak made me go "awwww", and I liked the way you portrayed everyone gathered up around too, and the various reactions ("parrot dead" XDDD). Bella's arguments to prove her innocence showed a startling sense of diplomacy. XD I love her. Love Tom's smoothness as he interrupted the argument as well, and his final words to Bella (as well as the latter's frantic denials…) were just epic. Well done :)

This was brilliantly written

Very nice work—wow, Mrs. Cole was just nauseating. Her viciousness and rage were extremely striking, and the scenes with her were nicely portrayed, with the contrast between all the characters, the wealthy woman she turned all unctuous with, yet who was disgusted and eager to get away, the kids clinging to her skirts (I do wonder why anyone would feel safe clinging to that woman…), and Tom so very different from them all. I like the way he remained completely unexpressive all throughout, but did show defiance when she ordered him to kneel—he just wouldn't bend. Although in the end he was forced. And the other kids were the gleeful audience—so the hatred he feels is really directed towards them all… The physical damage was harsh too, clearly, this wasn't just a little slap on the hand. Hardcore, era-realistic stuff. (The making him clean up his own blood gave me chills.)

I like the way you portrayed him later as he walked around alone—the fact that despite his strength, his determination not to show weakness, and the hatred that was his main reaction, he still currently just felt lost and depressed. Anyone would, and he is just a child, if an extraordinary one—no wonder he'd be unable to see any way out for himself, any hope. But in his time of need, Nagini came to him. The dialogue was very interesting, cryptic and poetic, quite beautiful. Love the way she told him of his great future, like a prophecy of sorts, and of the connection they would have. The bit about her name too… and of course, her offering him revenge. :D (Though Mrs. Cole really got easy out of that one… well, she wasn't mainly to blame about the cliff accident, but she was for his recent suffering.)

Amazing Amy and Dennis fell for Tom's trick, but I guess he is a pretty good actor and they couldn't suspect anything much—plus Amy had a point, they *should* have been able to overpower him. The scene at the cliff was really darkly gorgeous, so atmospheric—great description. I rather love Tom making them jump, too, and pretty much unknowingly practising the Imperius curse, wandless and unspoken, no less. And you also really showed the twist in him, the quiet, soft-spoken menace, how creepy his words sounded and how the kids started seeing him in a completely different light. The swimming and reaching the cavern were also very gloomy and aesthetical moments. Then it was a bit of a blend between horror, with Nagini, and a hint of humour with Tom commenting on how Dennis was the only one who'd be fit for dinner. And Nagini spat him out because he had too many bones XD Again, that funny bit contrasted in an interesting manner with the very bittersweet ending, Tom showing a hint of vulnerability, not being used to such emotions at all but not wanting the snake to leave him so soon. Yet indeed they would meet again, and for great things too :) Well done!

Oh, very interesting bit there ) Well, first, of course Hogwarts, the Ministry and the wizarding world overall would be utterly clueless as to what to do with the likes of Tom's situation. XD That is both sad, hilarious and utterly typical. Dippet's clumsy but well-meaning attempts to help only made it all the more embarrassing ;) I like the way you portrayed the circumstances of Tom's move-in, and the hilarious struggle to fit all of his books in there, then his realizing that he barely seemed to have any furniture or any clue what to get where those weren't concerned. And then there was the encounter with Valkyrie. Very nicely portrayed, she was so Bella-like indeed, and his reactions to her were pretty good as well, so controlled of course, perfectly pretending he found her offer to be completely misled. Naturally, he would not want to start his rise as a minion or even an apprentice. But the way she had impacted him was different and you showed that quite well, he's just not used to being challenged this way :) Pretty good! And I have to say I really love that name!

I like that Grindelwald offered to have Tom join his ranks and I loved that even then he wanted a female warrior.
