This might be one of the best crossover fanfics I have read.

The writing, while it has its typos (I mean this is after all), is easy to follow and to the point.

The character's interactions with each other feel not only natural, but also how they would act if they actually met. Dipper is, at first, rightfully cautious about this new world and its people, but eventually warms up to Steven to the point that he's worried his safety, and will stop at nothing to get back to his sister. Steven is just as careful and willing as always. Mabel is, of course, desperate to find her missing brother, but is also amazed at Steven's powers. I also like how Connie is the one to come up with how to defeat the moth, since it gives her more of a purpose and makes use of her intelligence.

This fanfic maybe quite simplistic in nature, but sometimes it's nice simply read about how these types of people would meet and work off each other.
