Sally chapter 1 . 9/28/2019 I think you are a very good writer, but I think it is really sad the JJ ABRAMS took the Kirk from Gene Rodenberry’s Star Trek...and recreated him into such an irresponsible, selfish, unfocused, unprofessional jerk that so many fan fic writers, who are basing their stories on the 2009 Movie and after Movies. Why would any crew member want to work with or under this Kirk? There is really not one redeeming quality about him, not even being “worried” for a bit when McCoy finally crashes, works, because Kirk goes right back to being a total Dork! Talk about a reason for a crew to Mutiny...! |
AmandaBaker852 chapter 1 . 1/21/2019 Interesting idea. Kirk would give anyone high blood pressure. |
ChamaeleonEyes chapter 1 . 8/12/2016 Don't mind me, I'm just mopping up any shards left of... whatever I felt for these two movies xD (In my defense, I don't tend to give them much thought at all...) Wow, this was eye-opening! I watched these before knowing anything about the Star Trek franchise so they aren't quite as fresh in mind... but sheesh, I can see this happening so vividly xD It's one very logical path how things would travel down... and you just showed how absolutely off the character dynamics are - especially between Kirk, Spock and Bones. They're so... mismatching xD It's so... gosh darn dead xD In what universe do Spock and Bones get along better than Kirk and Spock XDD Not sure whether you have watched Star Trek: Beyond yet, Kirk's personality does a... slightly creepy, not quite 180deg-turn but, ah, well, I'll just assume that this story happened between movie 2 and 3 to explain the change XD Plus, it's the reason I landed on your site at all, I'm very grateful for that... ;) Thanks for writing this ficlet, it was actually pretty entertaining (although I really feared you were going to kill off the good doctor while I was at the first paragraphs), you got all the characters' likeness really well :) Okay, going for the last two Star Trek fanfics on your account now~ |
Guest chapter 1 . 4/18/2015 I was LMAO when I was reading Bones talking in gibberish when he has the stroke! I couldn't stop laughing :-D |
lily anson chapter 1 . 3/19/2015 Nicely done! Loved it. |
Z.TCrossoverwriter chapter 1 . 3/18/2015 To be honest, I can see that. I mean... every episode or almost every episode of tos... Something happens to Jim, McCoy fixes him... the sicle continues. Things move on... That's on air... off the air... McCoy could be slowly be succoming to something like this... it's no wonder his condition of xenopolycythemia was put into play. Jim and crew barely lucked out with finding McCoy that cure by the way, further more, there is no way the crew would have found a little planet and decided hey, the fabreenni have a lot of medical knolige, let's use that! They got damn lucky. RL, they would make the medison, do trial and error, and finally when the cure was found... bye bye Bones. You really brought home that not all people are as indistructable as you would think, and some people have to "Act there age". Further more... I think Uhura has a point. 2009 Jim vs Tos Jim? 2009 Jim is lacking in experience and unlike his TOS counterpart is gunho. While they may be good at there jobs, without there Bonezes, and Spocks? Yeah, I made up a new word, yippy. There both dead in the water. Wow, this was a long review, on this story alone, and can't wait to see more of your work! |
mtcbones chapter 1 . 3/18/2015 poor McCoy I hope he gets better and is happy and Johanna can be with him |
JojoJana chapter 1 . 3/17/2015 Honestly? That fic made me very sad. I really like your other fic (probably TOS, right?) and it's absolutely okay to prefer TOS. But I OTOH love the reboot and the idea that young Jim Kirk slowly grows into the shoes that Kirk Prime wore in TOS and that Bones is there to help him. There are lots of fluffy fics out there making fun of Jim and Bones' relationship but somehow that's on the understanding that whatever happens, Jim and Bones make it together. While your fic takes all those fanon ideas about irresponsible Jim and overly caring Bones and turns it into something ugly, unhealthy and in the end destructive. While I can follow that line of thought, it's not what I love with McKirk and it really makes me sad. But still: wonderfully written as always! Thank you for writing and sharing. |
