Great characterization - i only recently saw/finished the series, so i missed a lot of the budding theories at the beginning, but i really enjoyed your interpretation of the series, especially the author! its almost as if it were stan who went through the portal instead of his brother xD your take on the author was very realistic. i'd want a drink too if i'd been in an alternate dimension for 30 years!
Also, your interaction between Bill and the author in the dream - one of my absolute favorite parts XD

I hadn't noticed many of the fics that came out a while ago so here am I, curious of stories of months ago. When they were simpler times in this fandom...

The portrayal of the Author here is pretty hilarious! He's so cranky and flabbergasted by the times, not to mention his alcoholic tendencies. It's like if Stan had went into the portal instead this was what he'd be like, even then he'd try to censor himself b/c of the kids. Author needs some soap for that potty-mouth!
And it's funny how he mishears Dipper's and Mable's names and replaced them. Not exactly the most considerate fella is he? But at least he gets along well enough despite his roughness. Maybe he can still be the role-model Dipper believes in. (i know, its irrelevant by this point but its still a nice idea for their relationship)

So this followed that theory while including FiddleStan, that makes me super happy! That was one of my fav theories, and it's sweet that the Author here supported them. Tho that makes it even more sad thinking about what happened to them later... :(

It feels like so long ago that the mystery beneath the shack was revealed and moreso the countless theories that were debunked. But looking back now I didn't realzie I kinda missed all the fun ideas fans came up with pre-AToTS. I'm glad I found and read this, it brings back those memories and feelings w/ them. This was one of the best, funniest stories in the entire fandom. Your characters are spot-on, the humor is amazing, and your portrayal of Bill always has me rolling on the floor. It's also very well-written and descriptive. I loved what you did with the author. STANLEY IS SHIPMASTER. Well, not compared to your talent for MaBill. TEACH ME YOUR WAYS O HOLY SHIP PRO. All unconditional admiration aside, this was epic and so are all your other works. (Flirting is my favorite of your fics. Laughed so hard.)

You made the author an alcoholic... Head cannons accepted! Too bad it's a kid show... I like your version of the author. He's a bit gruff like Stan, but still is his own person. And at the same time, you make me question if he's a good guy or not. Sometimes I have to reread a sentence in this, wondering about the double meaning to it. Truly evil...

Great work! I love your characterization of the author and him spending time with Dipper and Mabel. Plus, the adjustment he has to face after missing out on thirty years is quite humorous.

I love how despite his paranoia in the journals, the author still isn't afraid to criticize Bill to the point where he stops bothering him.

Oh my gosh. I think that is there is even a hint of Stanly Fiddleford romanctic times I am shipping it. Don't care. Plus Fiddleferd was so twichy and dude look at the vid I sent you

It was really amusing to see the Author's perspective on the future. I haven't really thought about how he was going to react, but I can guarantee that hijinks are going to ensue in the next couple episodes. Anyway, this was a wonderful read as per usual. (I laughed at the part where the Author was shipping Stan/Fids).

And where I come from, the gas is around $2.50. But it's way overpriced compared to how much it cost in 1982.

Now Stan and Fids could finally get married to each other! Even if they still went out of each other's way to deny any romantic feelings for the other! The author knew that it had to be down there somewhere! Just, really, really deep! He was sure of it! They had no reason to hide it any more!

But his happiness at teasing them faded when he remembered what his brother had told him about Fid- McGucket. After this, it wasn't likely that the two of them would ever be couple. And not just because they both insisted neither one of them was hiding anything in closet. Not even an invisible wizard.

Stanley ships Fiddlestan. I like it.

Just the entry line of this story made me laugh. Everyone pictures a dramatic entrance with the author, and the first thing he does is run off to the bathroom to pee. Is it weird that I can actually see that happening in the cannon?
