Omegaxis1 chapter 12 . 6/26/2017 The endgame is approaching, with Cepheus arriving and reviving everyone. I like how you seemed to show a bit of Cygnus' conscious mind as he was becoming aware that he was brought back to life. Like he was just a spirit and then returned to physical, or EM wave form. Finally Copper is starting to own up. I was worried that he was just gonna let himself be used as a pawn, but he is knowing that they have a chance or wanting to bet on this one last chance. This isn't like a case of Suzaku in Code Geass, where he chose to accept Japan's defeat so the people could survive and such. Suzaku did it knowing that many more lives would be saved and they can try to accept the system and integrate themselves so they could lead somewhat peaceful lives. However, Walters is accepting surrender knowing that billions of lives would be lost and the world would be decimated. If Suzaku was having that kind of ultimatum, he'd have chosen to fight here, not surrender. Hold on, so if Peace is coming back, is there anything about Kelvin being involved or how they became EM Waves now? Rosa is physically dead, and Kelvin vanished, meaning that he has the chance of revival or returning I mean. Crown being introduced caught me off guard since he didn't fit in that much, but you made it somewhat work. It is a bit sad that literally no one seems to be strong enough to take on Lyra Note anymore though, but it's understandable since her Starforce gives her a lot of power. Though I forget when she acquired the shield ability since that's Megaman's skill. But least he got talked through. And LOL XD that moment when Sonia was crying but denied it. Adorable. Um Luna... you have no super powers. You have the Shovel Card that you can just give to Sonia. But logically speaking, you're even MORE likely to get in trouble than her, since you can be used as a hostage. |
Omegaxis1 chapter 11 . 6/5/2017 Well Lyra, do you really expect your resolve that was fueled by bitterness and resentment to hold against the ideals and resolve of an honest person? There's really no comparison. A person with a true and more selfless resolve is far stronger that one that made their resolve out of pure selfishness. OH! So they WEREN'T transformed yet. Meaning they are completely human. Okay, now I get it. Right, forgot that EM Wave Change in this is working like the game, where it can only be done by the Wavehole. NICE! You made use of Luna and Cancer here. That's awesome! Luna using her connection with her parents to get her hands on a Shovel Card and Cancer Bubble messing with the systems was a genius move. I sort of don't get why Gemini Spark didn't try and attack Sonia and Geo when the stuff went crazy for them. Pretty sure they were at least transformed, so they could use their powers. You know, I think Sonia's declaration that Gemini thrives in the terrible environment of FM, unlike the other FM-ians, would have been far more impactful had you had her thoughts be shown more, where it dawns on her on how different he was, how he didn't seem to actually display any kind of misery but pure joy instead. Had we seen her thoughts on this rather than her saying it, it would have been a far stronger realization. Not sure I was particularly liking how Geo and Sonia were talking about Rey like he was the big bad guy here. Rey was always trying to protect Pat. Yeah, he's violent and can be evil, but think about it, how can he be anything but that when all he's been doing is taking in the anger and hatred within Pat, absorbing all the pain that Pat's felt? Actually, Rey is the one that truly understands Pat more than anyone else because he is Pat and has felt all the pain he did. Glad that Geo was the one that helped the most in stopping Pat and Rey, though Sonia did win the fight mostly on her own. Once again, I do wanna point out how out of place Sonia feels out of everyone. The story is about her, but its more her butting into other people's issues than already being involved in a sense. Well, least you made someone like Walters have the one that involved with Sonia's mother's death. |
Omegaxis1 chapter 10 . 5/18/2017 I take forever to make reviews. Maybe I should consider shortening them just a little. Well, now we're here with Gemini, the most dangerous of the FM-ians for his cunning and power. No matter if it was the anime or the game, he was always the one that seemed like ready to backstab anyone that would get in his way. Yup, Rey and Pat dissociative identity disorder. Rey being the embodiment of hatred and loneliness is actually sympathetic. Rey is actually looking out for Pat, but because Rey never feels anything but anger and such, he can't express any true joy and only understands vengeance. It's sad, really, but in that regard, the best way to help is to actually reach out to him, not seal him. Are we SURE that Sonia is only 10-11 here? Girl's already acting like she's some counselor or something. XD She's saying stuff and trying to make Geo continue on and he feels like he's been betrayed. Actually, I don't know how this counts as betrayal. Pat didn't do anything nor can he control Rey. And you can't blame Pat for something being influenced by Rey, since Rey is literally Pat as well. Uh oh, looks like Gemini sprung his trap, and it worked. But seriously, Gemini just told the plan. Is only Copper hearing this? What about those other Satella Police guys? And how did they even beat Lyra Note and Megaman? They should be way too strong to be taken. Just warp out of the ambush or something. Or maybe this is me comparing the anime here too much. Yeah, probably. Now the Key is likely Gemini's. No doubt that Gemini likely intends to double cross them. He has no qualms getting his own brethren killed. By what means should he hold his end of the bargain? |
Omegaxis1 chapter 9 . 4/22/2017 Poor choice, Sonia. Had you chosen to talk to Geo here, it might have helped a little, since you can't keep secrets from someone like that when Geo could have potentially helped for all you know. If anything, Geo being a trusted ally that you would count on, you should confide things to him, as it shows more trust. I like how you made Pat be excited, but still mostly kept a level of calmness in him, since Pat always struck me as the guy that would stay calm most of the time, or just being rather aloof, but has moments where he can be really excited. Suck it up, Sonia. Idols don't get privacy or respect in the sense you want. They love you, but fans are short for fanatics, meaning the hardcore ones wants to BE YOU. You know, Luna being out to see two friends, and another girl, how would Luna's parents even THINK that its a date? In fact, even in the original date in the game, why would they think a boy and girl, not even teens or in middle school, would be out on a date? Sometimes I wonder why Hope thought that as well. Was dating even possible at that age in Japan? Also, its not even a date if there are 3 people involved, right? In a sense, Ophiuchus is right. Luna was very weak towards her parents and couldn't truly fight them or be independent. She wouldn't have found the strength to stop her transfer and bam, she's gone. In a sense, Ophiuchus taking her over was indeed a blessing in disguise. Also, while talking about Ophiuchus, anyone wanna point out how Ophiuchus Queen has arguably the skimpiest design? Seriously, Ophiuchus Queen's torso has has ONE piece of clothing to cover it, and its a bra at best. All it does is cover her chest. Like seriously, I can't believe they got away with that. Guess the aqua-green skin tone made it barely noticeable. XD Nice job pointing out the coincidence of them being in a snake exhibit when Ophiuchus arrives, and also how explaining that Ophiuchus doesn't control snakes, but serpentine creatures that follow in a similar manner to snakes. I really like that. You know Luna, technically speaking, all parents thinks what they do for their kids is the right thing, and would tend to think the kids don't know what's best, and it would make sense. Of course, her parents' issues is that they are completely negligent and don't even spend time with her so often. So instead of Luna having a snake attack someone and someone else takes it, here we have Luna never attacked, but the snakes attacked in retaliation, and Geo took the blow. Crazy coincidence. Ophiuchus can control snakes, but Wolfe has the card to put said snakes to sleep. XD So no real fight here, but convincing Luna to stop the fighting. But you know, I was wondering how Ophiuchus would be like in this case. She's also a female FM-ian, so surely she should also suffer in a similar manner to Lyra, and I was right. Same proposal, but I laughed a lot when I saw that she ended up saying the SAME thing that Luna's parents did, which did her in ultimately. Okay, so the pairings are Geo/Pat and Sonia/Luna. Its very interesting, but I can imagine that not everyone that reads this agrees. Well, neither do I, but I won't hate this story or you for it. The story is still good. Ah, so Walter isn't working to fight FM, but rather to surrender and pretty much try to save anyone that's worth it. Of course, if he is also evil, I also imagine that he seeks to have absolute political power in the chaos where he is the absolute leader of the human race after the attack is done, so that he is seen as their savior. Heck, he could make the surviving humans make a religion out of him. Also, I doubt Copper is along with it. Just like Ophiuchus said, he's not going to say anything directly to him, but bide his time and wait for the opportune moment to do something that would work. |
Omegaxis1 chapter 8 . 4/2/2017 Whoa whoa whoa! Wait a second... are you implying what I think you're implying here with the dialogue between Sonia insinuating something going on between Geo and Pat, and Geo BLUSHING at that? I was sure it was gonna be Geo x Sonia, since I ship them, but... wow, you're going off on a different zone than I had expected. If you really are. Wolfe and Wolf. Very original, CAPCOM. XP Then again, almost everyone here has some kind of pun in their name. Geo going for the prefix meaning earth, and Stelar that basically derived from Stellar, involving space. Um, Sonia. You're still 10 or around that age. Just cause you've got a few battles under your belt does NOT mean that you'll be able to handle yourself. And this time BOTH human and FM-ian are fully into the battle with killer intentions due to rampaging effects. Though I gotta say, if he does go berserk once a month, wouldn't that mean that there would have been incidents when the FM-ians first arrived? Depending on how long its been, it had to have been a long while. Would have expected reports and such to have been dropped earlier. Either way, Sonia should be a bit more wary fighting. Wait, so Wolf Woods never entered his true berserker state? The whole red form, longer claws and such? Well, least this fight was able to bring out Fire Leo out, which helped, though I do wish that Geo was more helpful. Also, be sure to make more description in the fights on every move, rather than saying an attack struck him. Like the part with "Geo was able to hit him with a Heat Ball", you could have had something like, "Geo materialized a small ball about the size of his fist, brightly colored in orange with red and black markings circling the center, as he held it firmly as he focused on the rampaging Wolfe. As Geo threw the orb, Wolfe turned his head towards Geo as the ball made contact with the ground beneath him. In an instant, the impact caused an eruption of flames to spew forth, consuming Wolfe in the blaze as he howled in pain." Its a way of showing rather than telling. Describing things and giving us a vivid image in our heads of the scene in the battle, we get more excited. And wow, so Walters knows about Lyra Note. Too bad secret identities can't stay. But oh dear, the more that Walter insists on trying a war effort, the worse their situation gets. In fact, its almost certain to destroy the planet. |
Omegaxis1 chapter 7 . 3/30/2017 Hmm... looking at the beginning of this chapter, apart for Boreal and Geo, Sonia really holds no connection to anyone else in the story. Shepar was really Geo's teacher, Dubius was Aaron's friend, and now Pat and Bud are Geo's concerns. Sonia sort of feels left out in the story in terms of interaction. Since this story is meant to revolve around Sonia, her involvement is at best just coincidences. Even more than Geo's. I really find it funny how Luna is completely hostile to Sonia, but is a big fan for Lyra Note. But I do wonder why you had SONIA be the one to pull them away since Geo noticed it first and was trying to warn them. Seems a bit too much of a quick response from her given how Geo was more likely to react at that. And why wasn't Geo able to Wave Change and enter the comp space too? Feels like he should have been able to given that Taurus hadn't done anything for a bit of time while they were talking. You forgot Geo's dad, who created the BrotherBand. XP Nice, so Pegasus Lyra Note gets a unique design through the transformation. I like the guitar turning into a violin actually. Really neat. But wait, that would mean she has knowledge on how to work the violin? Not an easy thing to perform really. |
Omegaxis1 chapter 6 . 3/26/2017 Ooh, a little bit of divergence here, eh? Having Aaron be part of some plan with the Admins, along with Kelvin and Rosa. It is an interesting concept, but wait, does that mean you're removing Omega-Xis of being an AM-ian? Oh man that sort of blows, since that was Omega-Xis' defining characteristic. Unless no one knows that he's an AM-ian, including himself. Hmm... okay, while I get that one has to absorb the program to be compatible, when was it decided that Lyra would get the powerup? Based on how things have gone, Geo is the weaker of the two, so by logic, he should be getting the power up so that he can keep up. I know that Lyra is supposed to get it because the role reversal means that Sonia gets the power, but just feels like there should have been a bit of a talk first about it. To be honest, Lyra's reasons does still seem petty, given that if the King didn't budge and actually called Lyra's bluff if she got some means to control Andromeda, Lyra's entire plan crumbles, and if she DOES use the weapon, she basically destroys Planet FM. Also, while you could say how the place in FM is horrible, we don't really see why Lyra is so motivated to be the next queen or how harsh her time in FM was, or exactly how the sexism in FM worked. Had we gotten to know it a bit more beforehand, Lyra's plan wouldn't seem to be as petty. Well, Walters is clearly an asshole. Good to know. Oh man, Copper is gonna be in those situations like an evil paradox, where he has to choose to commit evil to fight evil, or be just while submitting to evil. Either way, evil prevails. |
Omegaxis1 chapter 5 . 3/25/2017 ... This chapter was just placed weirdly. In all honesty, it was just putting the incident with Libra here just felt extremely rushed, never mind the entire Giant Jammer subplot. In all honesty, I think we should have had Sonia and Geo talking some more without any big event that required fighting, and they talked about school and such that made Geo decide to take the step and enter school. That kind of chapter would have helped development pacing in the story, maybe get more insight on Geo and Sonia's respective parent. Once again, I genuinely love this moral gray you have going where Cygnus believed that betrayal was all there was because he had seen it so much, and Libra believed to protect oneself and others, one has to constantly sacrifice things. It really adds a bit of depth to the FM-ians a whole lot more. Like I'm actually thinking far more about them as characters, and not just random enemies. Who's this Walters guy? Don't think I ever recall a character in Starforce by that name. Interesting how Bob Copper might play a bigger role than expected. |
Omegaxis1 chapter 4 . 3/25/2017 ... Huh. I was expecting some big reversal of stuff where Geo was possessed in a sense by Omega-Xis, only for them to connect. But since you already have them know each other's pain, I guess that renders the need for the drama moot over there. So Lyra has some dirty tactics in mind, wanting to use the Key to force the King to listen, while Omega-Xis wants to make sure no one uses the Key. I can imagine that if Kelvin is made of waves here like in the games and anime, then Omega-Xis likely made a deal with Geo that if they can get the Key, he'll tell Geo about Kelvin. The fight went pretty well. Since Geo was more inexperienced in fighting others apart from viruses, he was at a disadvantage. He handled himself very well though. Hoping to see him still shine and help Sonia out as well. Even if the roles are more reversed here, the story would go along great if the two were able to support one another in more ways than one. Sonia trying to pretty much take everything and help others is clearly a way for her to avoid confronting her own emotional pain if anything. She delves into it, but like Lyra does with the Key, she tries to change the subject as soon as possible. |
Omegaxis1 chapter 3 . 3/25/2017 Now its following something apart from the game story with Cancer. Not entirely sure if you're going with the anime or the game here, given how this fanboy thing with Claude was something more in the anime. Plus, you could have given a scene about Claude meeting with Cancer and getting an understanding on how things worked. Poor Cancer. To be honest, he's much more dangerous in the game than in the anime, which the latter is clearly how you depict his fighting skills as. |
Omegaxis1 chapter 2 . 3/24/2017 Hmm... the beginning part I am a bit iffy on. If an offer seems too good to be true, the manager would likely not take it unless he would look at the case more carefully. Its a matter of common sense, and given how the guy in the game is corrupt, and in the anime he's just overprotective and a goof, he would be careful about who he would sign deals with so that it helps make him a profit and since Sonia is the one that makes him the profit, he would make sure that no deals are made that could be dangerous to Sonia. So him being so nonchalant about someone willing to help out free of charge seems highly unlikely. Well, now we got some exposition going, with Boreal and Geo. Though if you ask me, I think so far, the biggest flaw is how there's a lack of "show" in the chapter. Like its harder to picture the chapter or understand the perspective of the characters since we don't explore the thoughts of the characters more deeply. Since this is old, I shouldn't think so much on it, but still, I might as well mention it now as a way of helping you improve stories further if you ever get the chance. You know, I actually REALLY like this idea of giving some more moral gray to Cygnus. The FM-ians, both Cygnus and Lyra, both ended up unable to understand kindness and compassion, or trust and friendship, because they lived their lives seeing only the darker side of things. In a sense, it makes it a little sad that Cygnus and the others likely never understood the better side of things and would die. Though your action fight scenes could use a bit more work. To be honest, I was half-expecting Geo to also show the Wave Change as Mega Man, but hey, he's bound to show up sooner or later. Should have stuck with Lyra Note, since it is the more legit name to be honest. Well, Luna is once more a fangirl, but least it isn't something where she's infatuated. |
Omegaxis1 chapter 1 . 3/19/2017 A friend of mine showed me a link to your sequel fic. But since I never read your fics till now, I had to start here. And its an interesting concept, giving the role of main protagonist to Sonia. I look forward to how you run with things here. So Lyra just took the Andromeda Key, went to a guard, got him to open the door, and just casually walked out. ... Best. Escape. Ever. Seriously, who ever gets away with that? XD Huh, this is rather interesting. Clearly I can tell some shifting around is being done here, but I can already notice the hints being done, from the Visualizers that Sonia has that she got from her mom, her mom being once a scientist and having a friend that Sonia could look up. I can only assume its either Kelvin or Aaron, but I could be wrong. Interesting use of bring the different beliefs of heaven and energy thing here. Being different worlds, it would have different beliefs. Sonia is far more accepting of the circumstances than Geo was, and also far more ready to help someone out. Then again, both coped with loss differently. One turned to music to try and spread the joy that was lost, and the other burrowed into themselves and closed themselves off from others. Makes me wonder how Geo would act here. I look forward to it. |
Qaint chapter 9 . 11/7/2016 It would be quite surprising for NAZA to be working with an FM-ian, given their outlook. They don't even know about the current whereabouts of the key. So it's all a huge misunderstanding, which could have been prevented if they'd just told Sonia their plans. Typical adults in shows with kids. Well-intentioned extremist fits a lot better than their previous actions though. Now while I was surprised about Geo and Pat, this is not the case about Luna the tsundere the moment they inched closer. It's an interesting take and not something I've read before in starforce, but there's a first for everything. |
Qaint chapter 8 . 11/7/2016 The thing between Pat and Geo caught me off guard. Then again, it is not fully determined what it is yet, but it certainly seems that Sonia is less reliant on Geo this time around, emotionally. Walter keeps being evil and vague. They probably want the key as well or something similar in the end. |
Qaint chapter 6 . 11/6/2016 This chapter certainly complicates things. Now we have an uncompromising organisation who is likely just shy of hopeless against the real threat, but a danger to Geo and Sonia. They're almost cartoonishly evil though, hurting Aaron physically and so on, but it will be interesting to see what more they bring on the table. Giving the starforce to Sonia is to be expected. Especially since Mega doesn't know he's an AM-ian (or does he?). I like the actions of Mega with the commentary by Lyra. He's fun, and Lyra playing the straight man works. |
