Reviews for A Rift in the Fabric of Time
Guest chapter 20 . 11/25/2017
How ever a really great story. I love your storyline. I was shocked, that Frank was so horrible and sad, that they had not more time to explore Claires time. Mc. Gregor, Hannah and Dr. Tanner was a new chance for our lovely couple in this time without Frank and the Police. But at the end they had to return to Jamies time, that is there true time. Thanks for writing and sharing this wonderful story. Lovely greetings from Susann from Germany.

Another of your enjoyable stories...

What a wonderful story.
alix33 chapter 19 . 5/23/2017
“aniseed”, not “anise seed”.
Jamie missing zippers and the far greater rate of speed than laces with which they would have allowed him to undress Claire made me laugh.
alix33 chapter 17 . 5/23/2017
No wonder Mairi had that strange reaction when Jamie mentioned Lallybroch to her chapters ago.
I had to look up “gad” as a verb in the search function of the online dictionary site that I use for work (I’m a copy editor who works night shift permanently for a South African group of daily newspapers still on proper newsprint and a news website that belongs to the same company).
“carryall” should be one word.
alix33 chapter 16 . 5/23/2017
If Jamie is uncomfortable with shaking hands in the 1940s, he’d go positively spare from discomfort in the 21st century where we hug!
Those pear drops sound like they're the yummiest out of everything Claire chose, though I do like aniseed rusks (a South African thing) with coffee or rooibos tea with milk in it on occasion. Not too frequently though, or I’d be the size of a school bus.
“make-believe” should be hyphenated.
alix33 chapter 15 . 5/23/2017
“pay check” should be two words.
alix33 chapter 14 . 5/23/2017
“save e’er last penny”, not “e’er last cent” (since Scotland has pounds and pence, not dollars and cents).
alix33 chapter 13 . 5/23/2017
The feminist side of me likes it loads that Claire is earning more money at her job than Jamie is at his.
alix33 chapter 12 . 5/23/2017
That farmer MacGregor sounds about as nice as Claire’s sodding uncharitable nun.
‘henhouse” should be one word.
alix33 chapter 11 . 5/23/2017
Yay! for doctor Tanner.
Double yay! for the activities in which Jamie Fraser is a boffin and an expert at.
alix33 chapter 10 . 5/23/2017
Jamie’s ignorance about matches made me laugh, considering what happened just before Written in my Own Heart’s Blood (or #MOBY, as Diana calls it) in the Outlander novel universe courtesy of the matches that Brianna invented.
What a foul nun!
Just a random thought about the breakfast Jamie prepared for him and Claire: I'm not altogether sure whether Scots in the late 1940s even had jelly yet, or whether they ate just plain British jam with their bread by then.
alix33 chapter 9 . 5/23/2017
Jamie and Claire are not wrong about Glenn Miller, though I like “Tuxedo Junction” and “In the mood” better than I do “Moonlight Serenade”.
AW! At Claire’s worrying about Hannah being caught by the police.
“bathtub” should be one word.
Jamie really found the inside of a car suffocating?
alix33 chapter 8 . 5/22/2017
“servicemen” should be one word.
As should “pillowcase”.
I had to Google “couthie”.
“goin’s-on” should be hyphenated.
