Great story.

Ah, so that was the fluff Bellamort you were so afraid about, I would assume? It is gentle, certainly, which can be unsettling for such a ship, but I didn't find it OOC and it remained coherent with your interpretation of their relationship, so it worked rather smoothly overall. Your portrayal of the scenery at the beginning was quite beautiful and atmospheric, and I liked the way you used the bird throughout the fic, with the odd way it reminded her of her master. Your portrayal of her confused state of mind was very interesting, with the way she had never questioned before the extent of her "obsession" for her master, and it had never conflicted with the moments she had to focus—yet at the moment she just couldn't concentrate on anything and he kept haunting her head, to the point that she felt so lost.

Really liked the way you handled Voldemort—his quiet arrival, startling her, the elegant way he carried himself, his visible good and relaxed mood. Loved Bella longing to be able to just watch him work, and her pondering about his eyes and why she called them "fiery"—very fitting :) Their dialogue was also very interesting, with his enquiring about her thoughts, his comments about her appearance and her reactions to compliments, his steady and thoughtful tone, not needing harshness to be commanding. Bella really wanted to stay on the reserve and not bother him with her emotions, yet he would have an answer no matter what. Her vulnerability and emotional state were very nicely portrayed, and it only figures that she would be reluctant to expose herself this way before him, knowing how he considered such emotions. I like the memories of him writing her graduation speech, and her cutting down a man who had called her a "girl", making him so very proud ;') The fondness is very nice and kind of prepares the exploring Bella's memories that will follow. But before that there are Bella's difficult confessions about how much she missed him, and Voldemort's almost comical astonishment ;) Yet her desperate ramble as she explained how very confused and lost she felt with her memories was quite moving. Their dialogue, Voldemort's soft voice and mannerisms and the reconstructing memories together were also moving. There again, the gentleness could be found unsettling but it fits the atmosphere of the moment, the memories—Voldemort doesn't consider she is being weak at all, but can somehow relate to her confusion, and he doesn't want to leave her in that state of confusion—he wishes her to remember the things they shared, even the times when they were much more familiar and that could seem embarrassing or disrespectful (the slap! XD). Loved all the memories from when she was a child (and how they pieced together with your other piece where we can see Riddle's importance around Cygnus' death)—and her renewed anger at the memory of his leaving without an explanation, how she let go of her fears without even realizing, *knowing* the closeness they had shared then, and that she hadn't needed to embarrass herself with over-the-top reverence, the respect she had for him was a given anyway.

The Dark Lord making Bella's hair—that is something I would never have imagined, admittedly, though rituals are rituals. Really liked Bella's comments about his old name, and how unsettling that viewpoint might seem for him, his simply stating he had wanted nothing more than to leave that name behind, and her remembering the times when he'd told her about his childhood. And the headcanon about how difficult it was for him to sleep with someone else next to him was absolutely spot-on. I like the discussion about fears, too, and then Bellatrix waking up at the middle of the time, the bird's return and how she suddenly found the words to express her opinion about Snape. Indeed her insight was very solid there, though her realizing everything so precisely, down to the importance of Harry's eyes, was rather unsettling. Voldemort's reactions were interestingly handled, with the uncertainty at first about how he would react, but his listening to her and the openness of their discussion at the end. Great ending :)

This was perfect in every single way, there wasn't a moment that I didn't love.
