A couple things about your Sindarin- ion- nin is my son, not son. Legolas calls Thranduil ada( daddy) not Adar. And it's not nana, it's nanneth. All I gotta say.

It is true and I am happy you posted this Tauriel commuted Treason by pointing a Bow at her Kings face risked the life of her Prince and Friend to rescue Kili whom she only had one proper conversation with. I love this so much it was amazingly written and I really like this

One question- Legolas mentions Tauriel's fall, but Tauriel does not seem hurt at all. I just need clarification on this point.

This is glorious should be in the bloody movie instead of that scene where Legolas leaves to look for 10 year old Aragorn, who lives in Rivendale :P. Jackson needs to check his timing, and to re watch his own movie, because I am sure there was something said there which was contradicting with BOFTA. Or maybe I'm messing it with the books, but I am sure that Garadiel had said to Legolas that his life at Mirkwood has been happy and pretty much something along the lines of "My sweet summer child what do you know of..." which would mean Legolas knew little of war, and his departure and broken heart in BOFTA. But I'm rambling. I must say I loved this piece. I know Thranduil is a good king, wise king and he loves his son more than life, only I wished to see that in the movie instead of poor attempt at love triangle.(Like why do we even NEED a love triangle in an adventure movie? Romance between Killi and Tauriel was quite enough. Why she and Legolas couldn't be confirmed siblings? They grew up together, why when there are two races, and two men they need to be in love with the girl. Are brotherly feelings considered unworthy of following a sister to peril and caring for her safety?) I wished to see Thranduil call Legolas ion-nin, and for Legolas to say "Ada" or at least "Adar". I wished well all I wished was what you wrote here. I have weakness for father/son stories and generally for stories with parents and children and siblings, and all that family fluffily. LOVE THIS LOVE THIS love this to the moon and back.

OMG yes! This is everything that went through my mind as I watched Hobbit 2 and 3. Tauriel is such a disappointment as a female OC. Because according to Hollywood, silly females can't be trusted to be professional when they "fall in love", and they can't be trusted to have any priorities other than "their man". Ugh. Middle Earth isn't a romcom where that kind of attitude can fly.

I really enjoyed this and I feel this is a much more probable ending than the movie. I looooooved your description about what probably should have transpired between Tauriel and Kili...makes much more sense than that love tosh in the movie. I also like that you made Thranduil a bit of a jerk but you also showed that he is much more than that. He is also an ellon who loved his wife and a father who is afraid for his child, not matter how many centuries old that "child" may be.

I was truly disappointed that Tauriel & Kili didn't die together in the movie. If Tauriel had to live, this is about the only way that I could have fully accepted it. Thanks for making it happen!
I agree, she was so preoccupied with the Dwarves that she neglected her duties as captain and consistently put her own prince in danger. It's good to see her realize that and come to terms with how serious it was (and how it could have been even worse).
I have to believe Thranduil did get that necklace back one way or another...even though the movie totally leaves us hanging!

I really enjoyed this. I think the film would've had a more fitting ending had we had something like this in it, because we didn't get enough of concerned Thranduil, in my opinion. I also think Tauriel should have seen some consequences for her actions and also should have at least helped/shown some gratitude for Legolas. She didn't acknowledge the poor ellon practically risking his life for her throughout the two films, especially the last. They made her incredibly naive, I think, rather than keeping the strong character we had in DoS, which is a shame cos I love her.

This was a wonderful oneshot. I'd much rather look at this as the ending to BotFA than what we were given. Great stuff.
