Lovely, warm and delicate story. (However, I agree with ep in disbelieving that Lily loved Snape post-Hogwarts. She'd already stopped by fifth year, when she could hear of his near-death without enough concern to ask how he was, or listen to him, or even not pre-judge him wrong on the testimony of his "arrogant toe-rag" enemy.)

Like Hwyla, I wasn't quite sure how to take the "wall of black", but since it referred to the "thing with feathers" I'll assume a happy meaning.

That was lovely. I really loved the ending and the rest of the story too XD jolly good job with the story. And u totally agree with you. Snape simply could NOT have died. I mean a man like him living near nagini and not brewing an antidote to her venom? Are you kidding me jk? But that's a different issue.
Suffice to say that I think that your story us beautiful irrespective of what other people might think.

Lovely piece! Almost poetic in nature - without the format. And I like that little ASP must 'discover' Severus in bits and pieces.

Also that one can still go to Slytherin for bravery despite (or most likely because of) what others think of the house. I'm a bit surprised that IF Ginny is actually 'aloof' towards Al on occasion, that it is because of Ron's prejudices instead of her own. Treating her own son in such a matter rather suggests prejudices of her own.

There's really only one bothersome part - that wall of black as he leaves the house. Even tho' Emily Dickenson and feathers suggest 'hope' it sounds more like death and wings. I'm not certain whether Al has died or not. But that uncertainty might be exactly what you wanted here.

Sadly, Lily never really loved Severus; you don't marry someone's chief bully and tell that person 'my real friends don't know why I talk to you' if you ever loved that person. Or spurn such a magnificent apology.

But if Lily wrote that dedication, then why did she marry James?

I suppose Lily still has to be the Perfect Princess, when in canon she um, really wasn't.

However, I like Albus a lot here.
