Wow, dude, this was a really great chappie! You've gone into the depth of death and accepting it sooo well! Very thought provoking. And poor Shepard, can't catch a break, hopefully they can get out of there!

Something bothers me about you story if, you wanted your Shepard with another LI it is fine, but what I see wrong is having Kaidan is as last relationship. My conception of Shepard, and love is if he really loves Kaidan he would have understood his actions Horizon, and give him time to think. It's hard suffer the death of a loved one, and then see that person standing in front of you as if two years haven't gone bye. It would have been better if you had your Shepard without a past relationship, and start from scratch with this new person, but that's my opinion With that said I'll stop reading here. Any way I know is you job, I just need to say this.

Awwwww! I love how they're bonding! And yes, Kasumi is also awesome! I feel so bad for Kiyo, even though not being able to feel pain would be great, it must suck not being able to really feel. Great work buddy!

Good. It looks like Kiyo is helping Skepard to heal. I woner how long will take them to acept that they are fealing something to each other?

Okay... So, now I'm posting this on THIS chapter because I forgot to post it with my other review... So include chapter 4 in this statement as well.

I like the emphasis on the in-between missions rather than the missions themselves. We've all played the games (or, well, MOST of us have played the games I would think) so we know how the missions go and your options, so that's kinda 'old hat' for the reader even if this is the first Mass Effect fan fict the person has read.

But what goes on in-between... That's all open territory. There are S-O many little moments that could fill in the cracks between what's been shown, and those are completely fresh and new- no matter how many fan fics you've read... I think that's been what I've enjoyed most of all... You give us a time line and event list to go by (A brief chapter on getting Samara for example) and then you chose to focus on what happens immediately after that on the ship and how that has effected everyone.
It's a nice change- and a wonderful build up in to a world that- I could say with confidence- could continue creating games simply based on these characters and what happens in the 'in-betweens' for the next twenty years! So, thanks for showing us a bit of that :D

Yeah, actually caught a few moments to read last chapter and this one...

It's progressing well, and it's clear you've really started to get a handle on the 'voice' of Kiyo. He's a good part of the group, without taking over the story- which is all the signs of a well written OC. I also like how introspective you are about Shepard.
When you REALLY break down the events of ME2- you realize just how much hell Shepard goes through in it- I mean, GEEZ, it's a wonder they don't allow one of your character options to be 'Shepard has a PTSD Tension break down' (Although, you can come DAMN close if you play it renegade enough- I learned that the fun way)

So, don't worry about the sound of either chapter- you're definitely into the full swing of the story and all the characters are coming in strong and clear... Although, I have to say (and this is strictly because I like the characters and Kiyo and will ALWAYS take more) I'd like to see a little more of how Kiyo interacts with the rest of the crew (so far it's really just been Garrus) and to see how they talk to him about Kiyo. Especially because most of this is new crew who would only know of Shepard from stories and news articles (if at all)... That will make it even MORE telling when the people who did work with him start talking about the differences between then and now. (which could be an interesting psychological twist on Shepard's fear that he didn't 'come back entirely the same')

I have one question... In this chapter Kiyo feels Shepard's forehead and can tell that he's running a fever... But, I thought his disease made it so he couldn't feel things like that. He can't feel pain, and in an earlier chapter he mentions that he can only feel the pressure of physical contact- not any of the stimuli involved with that contact... So... Would he feel the heat from the fever?
If he CAN feel temp. changes you just might want to have Chakwas mention something (or someone mention something) about how that works- just so it becomes a cannon thing for the character. (because the disease isn't completely defined- us readers don't fully know the 'rules' for it yet)

Loved the story so far- and I can't wait for more! So- write quick! :D
