Aahh this made me almost-cry

Amazing story! I pretty much devoured it in one sitting. Every time Bucky expected punishment for his memories and thinking, and other after effects of his imprisonment under Hydra (gah he forgot to breathe?!), my heart hurt. That poor man. I'm really glad you had Bruce be the one to find him- I am slowly going to start going through your other stories, but hope that there will be more interaction between Bucky and Bruce!

Your characterizations were spot on and I could really hear the dialogue in the actor's voices. Great ending- with Bucky starting to reclaim his sense of self back through his name. Now get that man some chocolate cake!

Wow. I really loved this. I somehow have only just seen Winter Soldier (I know, I know, I am behind the times!) so I've only just read this but it's so well written; you got Bucky's confusion and single mindedness down so well, as well as his struggle to understand life with Steve compared to his life with HYDRA. I loved how there'd be like a paragraph of inner monologue and then he'd say maybe three words out loud - it showed so well how he felt forced to censor himself. It also made me picture his conversations with Steve to have these long pauses where Bucky is kind of staring off as if he's not sure what to say; again, it worked really well to communicate his struggle to adjust to having a normal conversation, and it also made me think of how a conversation with someone who's brain damaged often goes, with long pauses where they struggle to put their thoughts and emotions into words.
The short chapters make it easy to read but it never feels rushed. I do wish there was more of it though! I would read Bucky's recovery until it's like ten years later and they're all happy and well adjusted ;) And I also loved seeing Bruce in there! Bruce is always great to find in a story, and I feel like he'd really get Bucky.
It would be interesting to read this story from Steve's perspective, but it has been a very long time since you wrote this so I imagine that'd be quite difficult!
Anyway, sorry for the super long review, I just love a well written fanfiction ;) Thanks for writing!
