Oh, how lovely! And how sad! There are tears standing in my eyes as I write this. Malcolm's request is so like him...and Trip's response is so like HIM. Beautifully done. I especially like the last line: anger and frustration and affection all at once.

Again, so sad! You have a knack for angst, and I loved every bit of this. You're eloquent and clever, and I really enjoy what you do with these characters.
