I would have preferred if Merlin, idk, went home to be with his LIVING mother for a couple years, then when he was a bit older he'd come back and see Arthur being an ass to his servant and stand up to him and the rest would be history. Happy history. I feel like Hunith wouldn't hang herself. I feel like she may have left to seek new purpose, or kept looking for Merlin, but not hanging herself. If she didn't know for certain he was dead, she wouldn't have lost hope. For his sake she wouldn't have.

Poor Merlin

Plaza update...I would love seeing Arthur taking care of his adopted little brother

I cried quite a bit while reading this. This was a wonderful mixture of sweet and sad.

I have never seen Merlin. All I know is the legend, but that was enough to follow you blindly into this fandom, because what you write shatters me and also heals me.
"M' a m-monster. I've hurt people," he whispered quietly, his voice broken and tight as fresh tears welled up in his ashamed eyes again.

"Monsters don't call themselves monsters for hurting people," Arthur replied softly, no uncertainty in his words. Looking at Merlin right now, in this very moment, he knew there was nothing else that he could believe. The purity and innocence of his soul, his humanity, shone out brightly like the candles in his hands, chasing away any shadows of doubt and fear and distrust that he still might have held..."Monsters don't feel remorse for it."

It's an interesting concept reversing the positions but very well executed! (Not literally) not intending to sound evil here but I lovr that it doesnt have a really happy ending.
