Not Enough Answers chapter 1 . 6/10/2013
I know that it's been nearly eleven years since you've written this story, and it's unlikely that you'll ever read this review, but I just wanted to say that this was probably the first Tom Riddle fic I ever read, and deeply chilling. I still often come back to this fic to use as reference when I want to 'get into his mind', so to speak. Great job!
PhantomWhispers chapter 1 . 10/29/2012
Ah. Well done indeed. I found the story very well written; it is not everyone that catches my attention with this certain style of writing, for most people seem to ruin the beauty of this style. However, I found that this oneshot certainly fit my expectations and I congratulate you for that. Great job!
Squimkin chapter 1 . 6/29/2012
Wow, lovely :) I really like the lingustics here, how you play with the language. Especially the phonetics of the spells and how they sound... I couldn't help myself when reading this, I actually had to say them aloud (hah, I think everyone who's ever read this had to say them aloud).

Also, I love how you nevr outright say "Tom" or "Voldemort". It's like he's not Tom anymore, but he's not yet Voldemort - or, he might not be the person born as Riddle at all but just be some evil student.

Love it. definitely going into my favourites :)

Sachita chapter 1 . 8/25/2011
Oh wow. This was disturbing, but very beautifully-written! Chilling and in a way very aesthetical at the same time. It seems to capture Tom's essence perfectly and I could see Tom thinking like that. Great job, Kudos to you!
armchair chapter 1 . 2/8/2010

bluestargem chapter 1 . 10/7/2009

The One And Only Lobster chapter 1 . 7/4/2008
Very interesting. :) Though a bit OoC, I think, somehow. Can't exactly put my finger on it.
bredalot chapter 1 . 8/13/2007
Brilliant. Words have power, in their own right, and they are precise and important and perfect, and you captured that exactly. I love the precision you used in selecting words for this piece: when it's about words, you can't be casual with the words you choose, and you weren't. I also love the idea that this, this is what draws Voldemort, and frankly, I wouldn't be surprised at all.
q.thews chapter 1 . 8/18/2006
You know... this pov could be... the easy one, Riddle's (but i don't know if with his childhood he got the time to learn/appreciate pronunciation) or Malfoy's (he could have been raised and educated at liking right pronunciation) or even Snape (in his pursue of knoledge and subtleness) or even Bellatrix (before completly losing her mind in the darkness of evil).

Intriguing.

Ariana Malfoy- Lestrange chapter 1 . 6/9/2006
I was going through my favorites list, and I realized I never left a review.

It sent a chill up my spine. You captured him perfectly- in a way that I haven't seen him ever captured. Really, how do you do it?
hello heartbreak chapter 1 . 5/6/2006
Very plausible, and wonderful characterization. Adding to favorites!
imperius unforgivable chapter 1 . 5/9/2005
Brilliant. :D
the green fluff chapter 1 . 3/5/2005
Beautiful story.

I was saying the words ("Imperio! Imperio!") to myself while reading, and was stared at oddly by household members. :D

A very interesting look at Tom Riddle.

Digimon Author X chapter 1 . 1/5/2004
Aya... This, I love, in a twisted sort of way. You're the one in love with the english language, only in your ficlet, it's Tom Riddle who is in love with words and their aesthetics. I just love the idea that, originally, he wasn't some cruel sadistic fiend... Just a kid learning spells and loving the way words flowed. In addition to that- I like the way you ended it.
"They weren’t evil. They were strong and good. Beautiful, even.
And he liked the sound of them."
Hee. I hadn't pulled my strange little quoting habit on you before, because your ficlets are short, sweet, and to the point. Oh, some of it's longer... But you're getting the idea that I'm just a tad lazy, aren't you? Wouldn't be able to go for quite that much HP ficcage. But this... Loving the flow, loving the idea, and it's Tom Riddle. What -fun.-
