It's so weird. This is adult romance and an adult relationship forced on kids and it's illfitting and disturbing and just overall distasteful. You have to be really ignorant to write something like this and it shows.

I could have sworn that I'd review this fic before, but I can't find it. Oh well, worst case scenario I review twice, and this story was definitely worth it.

I enjoyed every bit of this. From the rare pairing (I'm weak for rare pairs) to the fact that it's fem!Naruto (I'm also weak for genderswap) with Shino (who is tragically underappreciated, and almost never given a romantic focus, making this fic extra awesome). On the more technical side, I also really liked the pacing, and that you time-skipped a bit in places to avoid getting bogged down in canon rehash.

I love the way Shino was (literally) bowled over by love, and that he still was very Shino while also being completely adorably head-over-heels from the get-go. Is adorable the right word? He was kinda intense about it (what with the seething resentment of Kiba, and the casual passing thought of just poisoning Kakashi cause he's not doing a good job, and kinda unravelling when Naruto was missing in Wave, and...). But y'know what? His intensity was still adorable.

As for Naruto, she was charming, and still very much herself, even as a girl. Still a bit rough round the edges, and unapologetically brash, but bright and genuine and strong. I'm so glad that, even with that crush on Kiba, you didn't turn her into a wilting fangirl. And I love how she just totally accepted Shino, bugs and all!

The epilogue, with that teasing tricksy bit at first making us think they were getting up to something considerably racier than sparring, and them engaged (yay!) and Naruto soon-to-be-Hokage was just the perfect way to finish it.

Overall, a really cute fic!

So when I say, I absolutely loved your story but felt there was just a little something missing, definitely don't take it poorly. The only problem is I am not educated enough or have the skill or knowledge required to comment on exactly what I'm feeling is.

What I can say is that the, 'Epilogue' part is a perfect gem. Some stories finish with a lime or lemon or hint (or hints) at their future or gives a glimpse at how things ended up, but that tricksy after-lemon fakeout was just sublime.
