George1892 chapter 10 . 4/3/2018 Quite a nice story but not sure what's going on with the Doctor Who references. |
VonPelt chapter 8 . 8/15/2017 Besides some obvious plotholes (like what the hell were Snape and Gryffindor years 4 and 6 doing in the same room working on something school related?) this story is simply strange because it follows the movie and not the calendar. Harry and Cho have nearly three months between this point in time and the third task. He could simply do something with her on the next day but since it's not in the movie those days do not exist? |
Charry forever chapter 4 . 7/14/2017 Why can't Cho tell her friends especially that sneak Marietta to go fuck themselves because Cho already knows that they are going to abandon her anyway because she is dating Harry and hanging out with his friends. |
MountainLord-92 chapter 10 . 1/26/2017 Just blitzed through the entire thing in few hours. Enjoyed this so much more than I thought I would. I was always a fan of Cho, was really disappointed when they broke up at the end of the fifth book, and really annoyed when he suddenly fell in love with Ginny... I don't fully agree that she was as poorly portrayed in the films as you say. It bothered me that they broke up over marrietta's betrayal, just seemed like a silly little thing, it feels more reasonable in the film where it is Cho herself who seems to betray them, and it is later revealed that she had been drugged with truth potion so it wasn't even her fault, she was just unlucky. It is unfortunate that a lot of elements got cut from the books for the films, it would have definitely made her more interesting if our first introduction was through quidditch rather than a chance encounter on the train. That's one of problems that Lavender's character had in the films as well, in the books she is a constant presence, and it is shown that Ron fancies her in the fourth book, which builds to their fling in the sixth book. Yet in the film she just appears, with no context at all. I actually spent most of the film not knowing who she was supposed to be because I had forgotten who it was from when I read the book and they never introduced her properly. But I digress. I do like how you have amalgamated elements from both the books and the films into it, following mostly the book but throwing in the occasional movie scene to make it stand out. In most cases this works well, the one exception that springs to mind is the scene where Barty Crouch recognises his son's mannerisms in Madeye Moody, it is a scene that I really like in the film, but when you have established that he has disappeared and is not turning up at work it doesn't quite fit to have him suddenly reappear just do he can do that scene which causes his death in the film. It works in the film, but doesn't really fit in with the book's version of events. I loved all the little Easter eggs that were thrown in. My favourite was Krum being stalked by the weeping angels, I'm a huge doctor who fan. It was quite cool to see how he got possessed in the first place. My only criticism (and I'm really nitpicking here) is that certain events are a effectively skipped. It's not a big deal, we all know exactly what happens and it's not going to have changed much if at all, but when you go into such detail describing Harry and Cho's thoughts and feelings and then time jump a few hours and state in the description that a major plot point has occurred, it feels very rushed. As I said, minor point, considering the main action is Harry and Cho rather than a complete retelling of the Goblet of Fire, but still something that stuck out. Also I don't think you ever actually explained why Ron was not around to support Harry at the start of the second trial (other than to fool us into thinking he was Harry's treasure) Again loved the story, I'm moving straight onto the next one, here's hoping it is just as good. |
TheGoldenYoshichu chapter 10 . 11/14/2016 I really liked this story. I loved how Harry and Cho got together and the way that you wrote their relationship. I also enjoyed how The Dursleys actually showed up and how they started to care for Harry just a little bit. All in all, this was a really sweet story. -TheGoldenYoshichu |
WHCnelson chapter 10 . 11/14/2016 Nice Story |
Guest chapter 2 . 7/14/2016 Hello, I love the direction this story is going and how Cho isn't portrayed as just a nasty character! I've always liked her as a character and I'm glad this fic is presenting her in a different light from the others!:) |
Guest chapter 7 . 4/9/2015 In the last chapter when I didn't see the translation for 可恶的老暴君, I actually searched and found a site where they translated Mandarin. |
Guest chapter 10 . 4/4/2015 A sad what if story. Poor Cedric died again ! The Crimson Mage. P.S: Hope you have a nice Easter ! |
WinterRain36 chapter 10 . 4/4/2015 I still wish Harry would visit Cho at her home over the summer. Why can't he? :( |
BlainX chapter 3 . 4/4/2015 The story is really well written but ron annoys me from the first chapter on. I know they are young but most of the jokes are not funny at all and it just annoys me to no end even if it is in character from what I know. I hope I can read on because it is a good story for that thanks |
gtski chapter 10 . 4/3/2015 Great way to wrap it up, wasn't expecting the Marietta scene, it just left with a lot of loose ends, but I hope you'll fill them up sooner rather than later. Looking forward to the OotP counterpart of your story, of how will you manage to write Cho in their midst now, the Dursleys being nice to Harry, etc. Can't wait for your next update! |
ObeliskX chapter 9 . 2/22/2015 Very good idea... and unusual pairing :-) |
Kaiser's Wraith chapter 9 . 2/18/2015 Nice work! It was good reading a fic based on Harry and Cho. Dunno why, but I am a sucker for this pairing :-p Seeing as you mentioned the next chap. being epilogue already, could you perhaps continue this in a sequel? Perhaps expand upon who those people were in the maze and the mysterious girl with Cedric? That would be great. And not to sound too demanding or selfish, but could you please add more fics for this pairing in an AU or just random oneshots? Thanks! And once again, nice work! Keep it up! |
meiguoren chapter 4 . 2/1/2015 Would you mind adding pinyin transliterations of the Chinese dialogue? It could be in footnotes, along with English translations. That's the usual practice in other fandoms (notably Ranma 1/2) with Chinese speaking major characters, where they don't just use a "translation field" convention. |
