I can never get enough of these two. I so wish Tasha had been around during Generations. I have this head canon where the first thing Data does after getting his emotion chip is run up to the bridge, grab Tasha, and dip her as he kisses her. Then he says, "I've been waiting over seven years to do that and honestly mean all that it implies." X3

If Tasha had been alive at that time in the prime timeline, I think she would have taken the stand herself and shouted that he was her lover to the stars. Her pride and self-image would have meant nothing to her next to Data's safety.

Another stone in the 'more human than he knows' bucket. Towards the end of TNG's run, Data was correctly interpreting non-verbal communication and coming to understand the limits of speech.

You hit an important characterisation nail on the head here: Data is... whimsical. There is no other word for it. He has a really eccentric idea of what classifies as 'fun' and, when he learns about something new, he wants to try it out. Sometimes, he drags his unbelieving crew mates along for the ride.

Very sweet so far. I would say this is a wonderful light read but that might sound slightly insulting.
It's meant as a compliment though. Really nice series, keep at it!
