Love that the picture inspired this story, a wonderful one-shot of a night shared by two souls trying to find comfort before the dawn. Your Riordan is exactly as I imagine him to be, and this was just perfect.

Riordan is such an interesting character, and you've given him a great depth and darkness. I'd love to see you write more of him some day.

This is beautiful and tragic at the same time, not to mention hot (fans face). The more I think about it it's like two persons with a hole in their souls trying to fill it with no real hope of success. They knew and recognised that from the beginning. It makes them sad and perhaps a bit aggressive, but they accept their flaws and what can't be changed. I'm honored that you selected my image for inspiration when you wrote this.

Looking for a word...not heartbreaking, altho' it is; not exhilarating, altho' it's that too; they're both seeking something in each other they know they won't find, because it's disappeared long ago or never been there. In spite of that they find comfort, relief, determination, strength and a bond.
