Rahne2 chapter 1 . 7/12/2014 Sorry I just got around to reading your tale, but I had to comment. WOW. Perfect. You really understand our boys well. Sam, understanding that the demon blood hadn't truly corrupted him as much as inflamed his passions, how few have seen that so plainly. For so much of his life he had been filled with rage (deservedly so) and perhaps a little blinded by pride. Yet in the end, what had he done but offer his life and soul to save the world when he killed Lilith? What's happened since has changed him, but he still knows himself deeply. And unlike some, I believe he understands that power itself is not what corrupts. Using what he suffered so long to endure to then fight back for his brother's life and soul, that is exactly what Sam might do. And Dean. Everything he felt and endured first as Abbadon's puppet and then in Hel-perfect also. Even his ignorance of the Norse mytholgy was so Dean. Hel herself was true to what we know of the ruler of the Norse underworld, and Dean as a Viking berserker is so right I laughed when I read it. Finally, Dean's endless self denial, and Sam having to correct him, again,to make him understand what Sam had meant when he said " no, I wouldn't...once more, perfect. "You're my brother and I fucing love you." Made me smile. If only Dean had let Sam fight by his side in canon, when he went after Abbadon and Metatron. Sometimes I believe we out here understand our Winchesters better than the newer writers. Thank you so much for this wonderful trip into Sam and Dean's psyches, and for seeing them as I do. |
K Hanna Korossy chapter 1 . 6/3/2014 Some fascinating mythology and detail here. I don't usually care for SPN fic that heads off into classic fantasy, but I love the details and creativity and feel of this. Sam's idea is especially inspired. |
MeAzrael chapter 1 . 5/16/2014 Whoa - nice to see what a little bit of Lucifer can do if you need a tad of juice :-) Really great story, Amber - it's too bad you can't copy and paste lines anymore, but I enjoyed your story of payback (possessed Dean, brother-saving Sam, soon-to-be-gone Abbadon) and your love for nordic mythologie adds some special flavour. What's not to love when you get a she-wolf to warm and protect a naked Dean? ;-) And of course the story of Sam finally able and willing to get his brother back wherever he might be - that's comforting my tortured soul! Did you by any chance see that new series, "Vikings"? Because I watched some episodes and I really liked these wild wild man (especially Loki) and of course it's about brothers too (more in the Shakespearean sense, I suppose). Thanks for sharing - and lots of fun with our boys and your girls. Kate |
Tifaching chapter 1 . 5/6/2014 I forgot to tell you on LJ how much I liked the demon's line about how Sam had Abbadon running scared with his smiting and wrath and such. Had me snorting during an otherwise serious stretch. Excellent fic all around! |
