Guest chapter 1 . 5/12/2014 You write this world so sweetly and believably, from Sam being a very real kid to Dean's mix of helplessness and experience, and throughout, love. It's very nicely done; your details are amazing, and you're one of the most competent writers I've seen at writing a believable kid. I'd just love to see, a, more of a point to the story rather than a sorta random chunk of their lives, and, b, an eventual solution to Sam's curse. It's already heartbreaking that Dean's effectively been without his brother 22 months and counting, but I'd like to think there will be a fix in the end...and then his dealing with mourning kid-Sam even as he rejoices to have equal-brother Sam back. My two cents. :) |
walkingaftermidnight chapter 1 . 5/5/2014 I stayed up until 2am last night reading this because I couldn't help myself. It was already past midnight when I saw the story alert in my inbox, but just I had to read it immediately. I have no self control when it comes to this 'verse. :) This story perfectly portrays how Dean's love for his baby brother has the power to completely override the exasperation of single-parenthood. I really felt for Dean when I read this. He is doing the best he can, and he feels like such a failure sometimes, but in the end Sam still sees him as equivalent to Iron Man, and that makes my heart burst into a million pieces. I love how you use these stories to examine Dean's softer side (thanks to Sammy being all needy and adorable), but you also don't ignore his flaws: the cursing, the fear of being alone, the short fuse, and the tendency to give in to Sammy's pouting. He is still the same Dean; he struggles so much with the frustration of domesticity, but he still doesn't give up on his family. You keep him refreshingly human, and that's what makes this story so beautiful. I may have mentioned this to you already, but you are one of a very small group of fanfic authors whose writing I can't help but savor word-for-word. In a genre that contains a lot of cliche crack-fic, your 'verse is like a rare gem; you manage to intricately explore this fascinating "what if" scenario that has not yet been attempted in canon, and you do it with such care, in such a meticulously tangible way that I wish it COULD BE canon. You really respect the characters, and it shows. I truly appreciate the amount of time and effort that you clearly devote to your writing. And of course, I can't wait to read more! :) |

need2no chapter 1 . 5/3/2014 So I just finished reading your 4 de-aged Sam stories. They are really cute. It was refreshing to read something so different from the usual monster hunts and hurt brothers. Thanks for writing. |
