Let me just tell you that this fic made that day so much better. Thank you. I'm sorry that you ended up changing your plans for this. But honestly, this is just amazing.

I thought you were a bit crazy when it was 3k and you were still writing pre-first episode. But I really love what you did with this. Spencer being string sensitive is just amazing. Five year old Spencer is just adorable. Let me tell you. I love how he does whatever he can to get to Derek because of the strings.

Fran Morgan is just lovely. She is motherly and caring and I love it. I love how she doesn't really question Spencer's presence. (Well, she does, but she doesn't really mind). She just accepts that he's there and cares for him. And when Spencer tells her about the string, she's really laid back about the possibilities of Spencer's string leading to Derek. I like that she's accepting and just wants her children happy. Though, question, does she see them too?

The cuddling session was adorable. And I love how you paint the contrast between Spencer and Carl. I think that's an important factor in any relationship that Derek has with another guy - his time with Carl. So I liked seeing that here, even though it hurts because Carl hurt Derek.

I like that Spencer knew /nothing/ about sports, but followed Derek's team. That is just love, right there.

Oh, this was lovely! I think this was the first Criminal Minds fanfic I've read.

I really like how you show five-year-old Spencer's intelligence. If any five-year-old kid could find his way from Vegas to Chicago, it would definitely be Spencer Reid. The whole scene in Derek's algebra class was perfect, also - I can just imagine young Spencer being able to solve a problem that a classful of thirteen-year-olds couldn't figure out. Even though Spencer is years younger here than he is in canon, I feel like you've done such a great job characterizing him. Derek, too...I can just picture him saying "You are one weird kid." to Spencer. That's definitely in-character for him.

The scene with Spencer sleeping on top of Derek is just so adorable. It's so innocent, and sweet, and I literally aww'd at the screen because of the mental image. Derek feeling protective over Spencer was just lovely, also, and I really like the contrast you provided between Spencer and Carl. The fact that Spencer's presence helped Derek to feel better was also lovely. I'm impressed that you were able to write about them as a five-year-old and a thirteen-year-old who are technically soul mates, and there was absolutely nothing weird about it - it just read so naturally and smoothly.

I love the ending, also - it definitely leaves the reader wondering what happens next.
