Kay Hau chapter 1 . 4/14/2019 Ah, what a nice ending! Great job capturing the friction but lasting love between Sensei Garmadon and Lloyd. Heh, Garmadon’s right, for what Lloyd’s been through its amazing how well adjusted he is! He really should be WAY more messed up! |
Aeon The Dimensional Girl chapter 1 . 4/24/2018 PERFECTION! ABSOLUTE PERFECTION! I really liked how we got a peak inside Garmadon and Lloyd's minds, especially concerning the problem with the Tomorrow's Tea and Garmi having missed most of Lloyd's childhood. The ending had me going all "AWWWW" and I enjoyed the lesson Garmadon was trying to teach Lloyd, this time with more patience. |
Fire Oreo chapter 1 . 3/23/2017 Cool chappie about Lloyd and Garmadon! I'm so sad Garmy's gone now... He was actually the most handsome eldery person I have seen XDD |
Skylark Starflower chapter 1 . 2/24/2016 That bit with the fishing is one of my favourite parts of the Lloyd story in NotN. Like the reference to it here. :) ...and how is it that I haven't added you to my favourite author's list yet? I'll just be fixing that. |
rose chapter 1 . 2/4/2015 I love it! |
Child at Heart Forever chapter 1 . 11/14/2014 ...well, I WAS on my way to Meeting the Enemy for my read of the day, but I got sidetracked and was looking through your stories and I was like, "Ooh, Ninjago! I LOVE Ninjago!" And Lloyd. And Garmadon. So yeah. And BOY am I glad I clicked! Where...where do I even begin? I guess the characters, of course- they're perfect! Lloyd and his father bounce off of each other brilliantly, keeping the dialogue interesting with also those little subtle undertones of what they're really feeling in between. At first I was happily amused by Lloyd's annoyance with Garmadon's lessons and Garmadon trying to put them everywhere, but after reading all the way it's so much DEEPER. The show actually went pretty in depth with characters, but here it takes it to the next level...! Lloyd striving to please his father is already obvious, but seeing the thought process behind it was a little heartbreaking. Garmadon WAS evil for quite a long time, and Lloyd is perfectly justified in questioning why he should follow Garmadon's word all of a sudden. It is a bit of an abrupt change for him, especially when he's already grown up and learned a lot from Wu. And him wanting to be a little kid again and jump in his father arms - oooh. ;-; But Garmadon's part REALLY sold it for me- I'm almost ashamed to say that nothing like this ever came into consideration with me! Him being robbed of his time with Lloyd as a child, a bit of envy for his brother for being the one to guide him with his new hero title, and him finding a lesson so often JUST to make up for all of that lost time...right in heart, man. No point poisoning the time they have left indeed. Despite being a oneshot, the story built up to that so well and got the best reaction possible from me. Like, WOW. But the best part had to be the comparisons to the Myrtleberries, of course. Really resonated with me because I absolutely adore little metaphors and comparisons like that and I so seldom see them anymore. Things like that REALLY help drive the point home ,and here it's executed so fantastically. For such a short scene at that, it was very well played and I must applaud you. ;-; ...and the scene with the fish wasn't half-bad either. XD Excellent story, smooth pacing, brilliant characterization (and metaphors!), and easy to thoroughly enjoy. Makes want to go back and watch the rebooted season again. X) |
Faineza chapter 1 . 6/27/2014 Had you read The Art of War or something? This is beautiful. Wonder how the great 1000 year old former evil conquerer would teach Lloyd how to court little ladies. |
ReaderOfGoodBook chapter 1 . 6/15/2014 Awwww, so sweet and thoughtful. Good writing, too. How many times did you edit this? It seems as though you've written the right word at the right time in the right place. I love this story! |
FireIce chapter 1 . 5/10/2014 Thinking back to this story yesterday I almost though it was part of the episode! :D |
smileaway96 chapter 1 . 5/5/2014 How did I miss this story? I'm sorry about that! Aww, cute father-son bonding time! Seems Lloyd learned quite a bit, even if he and his father don't always see eye-to-eye on things. Good job once again! :) |
LuckySouthpaw chapter 1 . 5/1/2014 Instant fav. I wish I could write like this! |
cdpdoodler chapter 1 . 5/1/2014 This was too perfect for words. No offense to Greg Farshley, but I honestly think this is better then the short story in "Night of the Nindroids". This was written very professionally, and is closer to canon then any of the comic books. Like I said, too perfect for words. Keep writing! |
The Iron Triangle chapter 1 . 5/1/2014 That is so sweet! |
Guest chapter 1 . 4/30/2014 ( Squeals with joy ) You are a GENIUS! This was too beautiful for words. Do you think you could do something with Lloyd's capture in ep 30? There is SO much emotional potential there and I'm surprised to see so few fics on it. If you can find the time, please work your magic on it! |
4nn4 chapter 1 . 4/30/2014 FREAKING AWESOME! I have read many things, but oh my God. This is gold. (If you don't mind a request, maybe write one about Lloyd getting captured in episode thirty. That would be amazing, and I know you could pull off Lloyd's emotions in that scene perfectly.) Again: This was FREAKING AWESOME. Signing off, 4nn4 |
