This story is taking a very interesting turn thanks to your integration of story-elements (mostly just characters) from 'Nightmare of Nunnaly' & 'Akito the Exiled'.

I applaud the direction this fanfic is taking so far, as it gives me a little insight into a manga of Code Geass that I never really gave myself a chance to read.

Too bad Cornelia didn't just shoot Colonel Madd on general principle before trying to figure out what she should do with the Irregulars. Granted, most if not all would probably choose to stay in the military, but at least it would be their choice.

I personally beg you to stick to the canon rather than movies since they are... well, like Rebuild of Evangelion but worse. Instead of expanding and improoving characters of the main heroes they mostly reducing them. I have no problem with you using some ideas/new scenes from the movies but nothing too big or drastic. I like the original series (despite its saddening finale) way more than what we got in recaps. And even Lelouch's (sur/re)vival will hardly change my mind.

But the final decision is up to you. I wish only that the quality of your story won't suffer from it. I have faith in you though. I am sure that you will make a great story whatever the path you choose to follow. Best wishes!

I vote for you to follow the series cannon of the show rather to that of the movies as...well It's more one selfish reason to me as I've never seen the movies but I just would love to understand what is going on is all but if you go the other way I will continue to read and most likely attempt to watch the movies. Also sorry to hear about your uncle dying and all the pure crap that was thrown on you this last few months. I didn't think you would abandon this story, you seem very invested in this story and you consistently come up with interesting spins to canon events. I'm going to need to re read the story to familiarize myself with it again. I will give kudos to a bloodthirsty(and thirsty) nunally.

Until I see what they do with the fact that a certain someone who was dead is now alive at the end, I'll withhold judgement, but I don't feel good about it. It just makes no sense why they would change this person's fate. Geass is a life of solitude...so why leave that one person alive when Lelouch loses Nunnally and should have only Kallen left is beyond me.

Yeah, they chickened out hard with regards to the 3rd season and just went with the "Oh, it's a different time line" thing instead. Which sucks, as that STILL leaves the question, did he survive and is off somewhere with C.C or is he actually dead? Well, admittedly i kinda like the ambiguous ending it has anyway where you can basically decide on your own if he dead or not.

The thing about the movies being what will have R3 being continued is actually more of a fan rumour than actually a confirmed thing. There hasn't been any interview which is DIRECTLY stating this. It's likely more so that it will be the series itself which has R3 continue the story. The movies are recap compilation alternate movies which means they are things that aren't really useful for hyping up anyone except established fans (which is what recap movies are for).

This whole thing actually comes from people taking a line in an interview about how the movies end like a "beginning" and spinning it in an entirely different direction than it seems likely the one who said that meant. Because when I heard that line I didn't attach it to R3 just how they wrote the movies differently so they could advertise for the upcoming third season.

tl;dr you might be jumping to conclusions here. You can likely use some aspects of the movies to inform how you change the story; some of the new scenes in the movies slide directly into anime canon as they expand on things that happen in there. Others directly contradict canon and are entirely new.

Friendly lurker here, I hope your doing well. I voted for the original series mainly because its mre fleshed out and for all we know R3 could be a clusterfuck (hoping its not true when my friends and I realized the movies were AU)
