What about Vlad? I know he was mentally unstable, but it was multiple elements that did that, from his best friend creating an experiment causing him to go to the hospital (and not visit him), and go out and marry the girl who he had a crush on, to being the only half-ghost for like twenty something years, yes he had become mentally unstable, but I think deep down he really did care about Danny in a way, I think if Danny actually went to him he would have helped (like in PP where he created an invention to take away the ghost half of him so he would stop living in pain, hate, and fear of himself).
