Alright... alright. I actually have no idea how to word what I am thinking... I'll just give what I can. I had the idea of these two together when Rush called David Dave. The idea became permanent head cannon during the private chat after Blackdale. Permanent. I haven't been able to envision either of them with anyone else since. I may have even convinced myself David placing his hands on Rush's shoulders after pulling him up was an aborted movement to the hair... ;;

The generals come off as a bit mothering and indulgent and things go on... And there is never anything to suggest anything in their presence...

The entire fic just slides right into my head cannon so completely it's amazing.

And it's well writen, well thought out, and absolutely adorable.

And no, that still isn't exactly what I wanted to say, but nothing wants to come out right.

I had almost given up on this section, but I will keep checking it if this is my reward! I enjoyed this a lot. David's excessive conscientiousness and the generals' assumpions that of course they are already involved ring true. Nice work!
