Reviews for Shattered
Fedski chapter 1 . 9/8/2017
No one usually likes to write the sad tragic fics, but I have to say, I'm a sucker for them. There's always just an element more of realism and honesty to these fics. Usually characters are written better, expressed better and more well thought out. Every action they take is analysed which is something, I am sad to say, usually does not happen here on fanfiction.

Thank you for this beautiful piece. You captured a Sanji without Zoro perfectly in all his misery and lonliness. I hope you are still writing, because this brought me ro tears.

TTTTTTTTTTTTTTT...TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
Asma chapter 1 . 8/14/2014
I dont usually read gay fanfictions
"when I lost you forever, where can we meet again?"
but from the sentence in the description I knew this was not a typical fanfiction story

"when I lost you forever, where can we meet again?"

I lost my younger brother three months ago and this sentence made me directly tear up.
Dates to me now are how many days has past since he left.

"The inability to feel the warmth of the body that was no more, so lively and close in former times, was unbearable. The concept of death seemed like total absurd to him. How could a human stop existing? How could all his thoughts, feelings, ideas, heat of his heart, his dreams, his goals disappear just because his body was destroyed?"

I thank you for writing things that I was thinking of.

Good Luck
BrainDeadMaggot chapter 1 . 4/3/2014
When you said "erase the memories of themselves from each other's minds" I knew exactly what it was.., sunshine for the spotless mind.., out something like that.., is there a like, love, share, promote and bump up button here that I can rape? Because this was absolutely amazing.., I had so many endings flashing through my mind, him getting over it, getting sick, starve, meet a little boy who was digging behind the Baratie that was shockingly similar to Zoro, and Sanji ends up adopting him.., but I was right with my first idea what I learned Sanji was to depressed to function (the 5 paragraph or something) that it was suicide.., we all love high windows.., but seriously.., fic sites need a rape button.., cuz this, needs to get raped.., gang raped.., by hyenas.., I'm really glad I read this..,

Ririrou chapter 1 . 1/20/2014
My heart hurt the entire time I was reading this fic :'(
wait what heart

But anyway, I feel that the moments you chose as a flashback as well as the places you decided to put them in really drove this fic home for me. It just enhanced the story and the feelings and made it even sadder and more beautiful and deep than it could have been if you chose different moments or put them in different places.

Yeah, I don't know what I'm saying either.
Amazing job though! Your writing style is stunning, and it takes my breath away. Looking forward to more!

Doom Candy chapter 1 . 1/14/2014
I can’t wait, goddamnit! THIS IS PERFECT

Yeah, I always knew you could write really deep stories, but this one is the pure essence of deepness of… DAMN IT I CAN’T EVEN THINK STRAIGHT I’m sorry.
I have absolutely no idea how… I mean this fic has become one of my favorites, and I’ve read a lot of stories.

How did you even manage to place so many emotions in this small text? Merry flashbacks against harsh reality is like repeating touches of hot coal to bare skin. It’s such a rough contrast it keeps the story heartbreaking. And even if it’s bearable at the beginning, the further story goes the more difficult it becomes to read. Sanji is suffering – he really is suffering. Time doesn’t help. Nothing helps. And I suffer with him, as if it’s my lover who’s dead.

And you somehow always find a good time and place to hit. When Zeff tells Sanji he’d better have some company when he goes on a vacation. When Sanji looks at himself in the mirror. When Sanji skips his meals. When he watches the movie, looks through the photos- gaaaaaah! Every single moment of this story is a powerful, merciless blow to the reader’s heart. And even I, who claim to be free of strong emotions, have my heart completely destroyed.

I love how Sanji interacts with other people. How they try to help him and at the same time have no fucking idea of how broken he really is. How hopeless he is. I’d pick up an example, but I can’t. All dialogues are precious and peculiar in their own ways.

The scene with the photos was absolutely and utterly heartbreaking, it is one of the most powerful blows to my heart. When Sanji saw the photo on which he and Zoro were kissing, I- DJFBSJDFBLKJDSFBLKDSFBLBDS I just can’t, I’m sorry.

And all those flashbacks… and Zoro’s swords… Trying to get warm together, taking a shower, fighting… God, I’m becoming too sentimental here xDDD But I can’t keep calm, I swear, this is too deep.

Look at me, I am your beta-reader and I can’t help writing you a review full of tears. You have no idea how difficult it was to cut all my emotions and just do my work. Yeah, I sure told you how perfect I thought this fic was, but really? Watch, this is what I really feel. And you even dedicated it to me… I… djfhsljdhflkdsgls

GAAAAAAH ;_;

I’m sorry, I can’t write anymore.

This probably won't be a very intelligent review, because you've melted my brain. That and my heart is missing. It's somewhere back there, on the floor. Yeah that bloody mass. It took a lot of damage, but I had to get rid of it if I wanted to make it to the end.

I'm blown away. I knew you were great with emotional things, but this goes beyond great. This is soul shattering. It was sad, at the beginning. It was really, really well written anguish. I was impressed, in the beginning, about how accurate the feeling of loss was. The perfect feeling of drowning in hopelessness.

And then it just got worse, and by worse I mean better, as time went on. When time passes, they tell you it gets easier. "Time heals all wounds" right? No. And not for Sanji. Every waking moment was a lesson in torture. TORTURE. It was really painful to be inside his head.

I love the movie, I haven't seen it in a long time (I'm not fortunate enough to own it) but it fit with this nicely.

As a reader, I felt really helpless. Obviously, as Sanji was feeling pretty helpless. But I felt helpless in a different way. I wanted to help poor Sanji, and having to see his downward spiral made me feel pain separate from Sanji's. It was like a double whammy of Sanji's pain and my own and, yep, my heart is still back there in tatters.

This was great, really. I wish I could say more intelligent things about it. Especially the end. I could write pages about the end, the part with Zoro's swords, the phone call from Law, the window...well I could write pages where I scream about the overwhelming feelings I have about it all, but none of it would make sense. This probably doesn't even make sense.

This story deserves an award. It's truly amazing, breathtaking and fantastic. I love it so much even though it hurt me so badly.
