I have leaned that few people are any good at proof reading their own drafts (me included). I have been a member of this site for years and reading your stories even longer. With regards to writing, I love reading (fantasy novels in particular) and have done some courses on how to write well (for assignments, mostly). I humbly offer my services to fellow authors of this fine website.

Everybody that knows me say I am very pedantic, I will get it done no matter how long or how difficult it is. If I say I’ll do it then I’LL DO IT. If I can’t I’ll let everyone know I’ve given up.

Since I started reading fanfiction I’ve seen the really good posts to the really bad ones. I have standards for the stories I will read (not including beta reading), ie: spelling and grammar (US or Australian), staying mostly true to the characters and a plotline that is NOT like Swiz cheese (excluding multiple one-shots). I despise being a hypocrite, so I have set those standards for myself as well.

I have a habit of condensing ideas into the minimum number of words. This is good for exams and assignments but not so much for creative writing. I’m trying to kick the habit by writing my own stories.

General, Romance etc. Almost anything if the characters are in character (some poetic licensing allowed) and the plots not full of holes.

Massive AU stories. No taking the characters and putting them in other times or places. Stories that focus on the next generation are OK, though. Horror. Don’t watch, don’t read, don’t write. Slash. I have nothing against homosexuals, but I don’t think (as a straight person) I could comment well enough to do them justice. Heavy M rated stuff like rape, murder and lemons.
If I like the story, I may reconsider any/all of the 'do not read' list. Going on a story by story basis.
