I'm fairly new to beta reading. i heard about it and once I fulfilled the correct qualifications on the site, I thought it would be a good idea to give back to the community and help out my fellow fan fiction /br /

All I ask in return for my beta reading is for you to be polite and not be offended when I try and give advice for /br /

I hate proofreading my own stories but if it's written by another person then I am more than happy to do so. br /br /

I will check grammar and spelling, let you know if your sentences don't make sense and make sure there is a steady flow of /br /

If your story is really not my cup of tea I will most likely drop it and ask you to find another beta /br /

My purpose is to proofread and help you fix any mistakes, not rewrite the entire story for you because you can't write.

I excel in spelling, grammar, sentence structure and continuity... Well, at least I think I do. br /br /

I can often be quite articulate and help you find different words to /br /

br /

I can also be useful with helping come up with ideas when you're stuck and I can also be useful with helping you keep everyone in-character. I am obsessed with characters so I'm useful when it comes to characterization.

I tend to make friends with people on this site. If you wish for our relationship to remain strictly professional, please state that before I become /br /

If I feel like I cannot meet a deadline I will tell you beforehand and most likely ask politely for an extension. br /br /

If your writing style really bothers me it won't take long for me to drop your story all together and ask you to find another beta /br /

I would prefer to beta for people who have had experience in writing, but if you're new to writing I don't mind. It's only a mild /br /

I prefer romance over anything else. I feel uncomfortable reading stories without romance in it. Even if it's Romance/Tragedy - it's fine because the romance is /br /

Judging from my fandom preferences it isn't difficult to tell that incest is not an issue for me. I will happily read incest for you and won't feel uncomfortable at /br /

br /

I prefer fluff over anything else.

I don't like yaoi or yuri much, but I suppose there are always exceptions. The Hitachiin brothers, for example, are usually the main exception to /br /

I don't like poorly written stories. I am aware that it is my job as a beta reader to fix these issues, but if the writing is so terrible that it's cringeworthy, I'll drop the story immediately. I check for mistakes, not rewrite the entire story for /br /

I prefer fluff over smut, since smut makes me feel a little odd unless I personally ship the two characters involved in said smut. br /br /
