My goals as a beta reader are to help other authors improve their writing skills and present better-developed stories on the site. My approach is to read with a critical eye, taking note both of writing errors that can easily be fixed as well as issues with pacing, characterization, plot, and the like. I prefer to work with writers who are willing to listen and learn, rather than lashing out simply because their stuff isn't perfect right off the bat (mine isn't either).

Spelling and word usage are my main strong points. I almost invariably notice when a writer has misused or misspelled a word, even when it looks at first like it might be right. I have a degree in editing and creative writing, which I use not only in my own writing but to help out others with theirs as well.

Sometimes my sentences can come out choppy the first time through, or I can use one word multiple times in close proximity to each other, making the story sound repetetive at times. (This is why I'm more than grateful to my beta readers.)

I like romance, adventure, and suspense, especially with fantasy elements. I also tend to prefer canon pairings. All the better if the story is for a series I enjoy.

I won't betaread anything rated over T or anything overly violent or sexual. I don't really care for slash pairings either.
