First of all, I absolutely love Beta reading. I find it really enjoyable to stick in my opinion about someone else's work. Part of the reason I like Beta reading so much is also 'cause I'm really bad at sticking to stories I start. I'll get bored and just drop the stoy. So, I prefer Beta-ing. :) In reference to my Beta'ing style, I tend to be kinda picky. I don't like bad grammar or misspellings or plot holes or inconsistent characters and such, so I'll point them out and usually give an opinion on how to fix it. One thing I tend to do (especially of someone has writer's block): I'll write a paragraph or two for their story and say, "Here, this is what I think should happen next, what do you think?" Apart from that, I don't think there's much else. :)

I'm good at finding inconsistencies and minor writing problems, like a weird transition or an awkward sentence. Inconsistencies really stick out for me, so I can usually point them out and give an opinion on how to fix it.

My grammar radar doesn't always work well. It's easier for me to find grammar and spelling mistakes on other people's work than my own, but I still miss things occasionally.

I like romance stories, preferably with a non-canon pairing. Humor is good too, and I adore fluff as long as the characters are in-character and it's realistic(ish). Yaoi is a preference for me, but I'm willing to do het pairings as well.

I don't really like MPreg. It's not biologically possible. I'll save the rant for later, but bottom line is I probably won't read your story if it has MPreg. Another thing that bugs me: OC's. There are very few good, well-built OC's on this site. Also, het or canon pairings I find rather boring. I do tolerate them, however, and am willing to read stories with het or canon.
