I usually start with a basic SpaG check, and then offer comments on the flow of the story and possible plot holes. I prefer all files to be in .rtf or .doc format so that I can maximize the ammount of edits I can do with notations. I hope that anyone looking for a beta reader will understand that just because I am correcting mistakes or offering suggestions that I am trying to hurt an author's feelings.

I enjoy working with authors long term. So if you have several stories you are working on, or plan to work on, I would be happy to help. I like the synergy that can form when an author and beta have been working together for a while.

I have an inherent grasp of sentance structure. I may not be able to tell you why it is correct, but I can tell you that it is. I have knowledge of how difficult it is to write in a foreign language (having studied French myself), and I am very good at helping writers whose first language is not English.

I sometimes miss simple spelling mistakes. I use a spell check program, in addition to my own eyes, but sometimes you just can't help reading 'teh' as 'the'. I am not the person to come to if your cannon is set in the UK and you want to check for cultural references. I can however point you in the direction of people who are great at that.

I generally prefer to beta slash or gen. Het is ok in certain cannons, but I don't read it personally.

There is almost nothing anyone could write that would always squick me. As long as it is in a cannon that I know I'm up for anything.
