I always enjoy correcting people. Sometimes it drives people crazy, but I can't help it. I notice a lot of things and give long reviews. If you want me to beta, just message me and tell me a little about what the story is about. Chances are I'll accept 'cause I'm not a very busy person.

I'll catch most spelling and grammar/punctuation errors, and tense errors. I can give you ideas on how to thicken the plot (foreshadowing, subplots, backstories, etc.) and help you put detail into your phrases, make them pop. One thing you might really seek me for is if your story takes place in another time, I can make sure things are period accurate. (1920s and Victorian eras especially. This might include names, lingo, fashion, music, morals, etc. Don't want our 19th century maiden to be named Kenzi saying "OMG." Our 20s man won't don a hoodie and listen to the Beatles. And they DID NOT have Guitar Hero/iPods in the 80's!!)

I guess I can tend to be TOO nitpicky, I might make a new/unexperienced/not very serious writer feel overwhelmed with all the corrections I'm making. Make them feel a little degraded. Just be aware, if you're new to writing I'd be glad to give you tips on how to get you started, but I might go overboard. New writers don't really need to worry about passive voice and participle phrases, and I sometimes forget that...

I like stories that aren't afraid to touch on "iffy" or "touchy" subjects. I like tragedies, melodrama, PREQUELS are love, and parodies are awesome; I have a humorous side. Love to laugh at things I like. It would really be preferred but not required if I have written for the fandom that I'll be betaing for. I'll do smuts and mild male-slash, just because I'm open-minded with things like that, but it depends on incest...

I don't like a whole lot of OCs unless it's a prequel/backstory and you kind of need 'em, I won't do femslash, and I'll only do heterosexual incest, but you might want to tell me some details before I'll accept. No Disney, no super-sunshine-butterflies-lalala goody goody stuff (I prefer drama and darker issues than whether Sally will ever get to go on a date with Johnny.)
