I've been a fanfic reader for at least 3 years. I am currently a beta on the Simply Undeniable site.

I try to keep my beta style pretty open. I enjoy different types of writing styles, although those that can paint a picture of the details when my eyes are closed are my favorite. With that said, I will always check with the author prior to making changes, just in case the flow of writing is in a particular style for a reason. I'm honest with my opinions. I think that open dialogue with the author is key to keep that relationship open. If we can't talk through the story then what's the point?

Canon, keeping characters real, spelling and grammar, plot holes, keeping the flow smooth and keeping the story from spiraling out of control. Sometimes those characters just need to be reeled in once in awhile. *grins*

Those darn semi-colons will be the death of me. I swear they will! Sometimes I tend to over-think things and try to make it perfect in my POV. Hence, the reason for communication. It's not my story afterall, I'm just here to help it on it's journey.

To be honest I prefer AU. The stories have already been written and read (many times, mind you) so to see different scenarios for the characters we all know and love is bliss. Canon and non-canon couples are both welcome. Tastefully written lemony goodness is welcome as well.

Slash is definitely not my thing. While I have read a few and they were not offensive or tasteless, it's not my first choice. I'm willing to read a chapter before making a decision if you're interested in my services as a beta.
