OC Dos and Don'ts

Dos
Make them interesting... but not too interesting. People don't really care for Mary Sues or Gary Stus.
If it's in Naruto, give your fucking character a team, you'll get flamed for having your OC dreams with just your favorite character.

Don'ts
Don't make your character to where no one or nothing can beat it... A. it's fucking dumb B. no character is THE GREATEST
Don't make your character the most attractive. I swear, some of you can't even make an attractive character and you have everyone just follow him/ her like a love struck puppy... some of the female OCs... man, Ino, Tenten and Sakura could beat you in a beauty contest. And I don't really care for those three...
Do not... DO NOT give your character a fucking Americanized name for anime-related fanfictions (unless it's like Shaman King and you have an OC that's in the Shaman Fight that comes from else where) The reasons you don't give your character an American name? One; it screams 'I'm a Mary Sue, flame me, bitches!' Two; Do you see any of the other characters with American names? God...

Cassandra Uchiha is an exiled member of her clan and ran away from the Leaf Village a long time ago. She returns to find that there is only one survivor of her old clan... her brother Sasuke Uchiha... She also falls in love with the prodigy of the Rookie Nine, Neji Hyuuga... what lies in her future?

I laugh at crap like that. What lies in her future? I'll tell her what, lots and lots of flames from Sue haters and character name purists, such as myself who don't believe in Americanizing the names of characters. A summary like that screams 'I'm a Sue, I'm going to have mad, whore sex with Neji. Flame me before I go too far!!

Any stories that are old and still up here are really just here for my future reference. They probably won't be continued for a while till I can actually plan out something a little more proper for what I want happening in each one of them. However... I can assure that the stories that will be updated every now and then at this point are Talk About Imbalance and Caged Twin Song. The first of those two is one that I've been working on for over a year now, and I've been slowly getting it written and completed. The second of those is a new one that's meant to be short and cut off, leaving a cliffhanger for those who read. It is actually already completed, though I will only be updating it once a week so that my readers will want to know what happens next in it. I honestly do not believe these to be great works of mine by any stretch of what one would be considering 'great'. They are merely practice tools for myself so that I can continue to becoming better with time.
