![]() Author has written 12 stories for JAG. Update 22-July-2020: just awaiting the return of my beta. In the meantime, I have moved ahead with "Red Mittens" and "Gold rings" (which are entirely within my purview). Based in the United Kingdom. Started as a part-time reader of FFN, passing time on long journeys or when sitting quietly at home. This is why I will use the British idiom in my written English. My wife and I discovered NCIS around the time of season two in the UK (2005) and we have enjoyed the "ensemble" nature of the NCIS casting ever since. I discovered "JAG" a couple of years back, then took advantage of a sabbatical in 2017 to buy the DVD box set and I dived in regularly. This turned out to be the best forty quid I have ever spent on Amazon - and helped pass the boredom of summer evenings away from home. Then the fanfiction writing bug reared its ugly head - and the rest, as they say, is history! My FF writing started in January 2018. I concentrate mainly on AU-based stories, exploring the possibilities for the minor characters who were never really fleshed out during the mainstream run of "JAG" between 1995-2005. The occasional story will "dive down a rabbit hole" but will eventually return from Wonderland to the "reality" that is JAG-world. A visit to Arizona and California in Nov-Dec of 2019 provided inspiration, at Red Rock AZ, La Jolla and Coronado CA. Accordingly, it is not my contention that the Mac-Harm "dance" was the best source of characters and potential back-stories and side-stories which we might be writing in FF-land. Additionally, our "Dynamic Duo" have been FF-ed to death over the decades. This over-exposure motivated my use of less-fleshed-out supporting characters from the ten-year run. To me, the minor characters have far more potential for imagination. Throw in an Alternate Universe and the possibilities are endless. Plus, to be honest, we have collectively explored Harm and Mac almost to death on these webpages since the 1990s. Don't lament this, enjoy the new variety! *Do - please - feedback*. I always welcome (and encourage) both feedback and (via PMs) suggestions for extensions and additions to my story base; several suggestions have already been enveloped into my writings. Should you spot a typo or an error, do *please* PM me and I shall correct it promptly. Remember - an anonymous review with a great suggestion (or worse, a question without your reply details) cannot be answered, nor followed up to ask a further question about your idea. Nor can I discuss and develop the idea - and credit your contribution! Please be confident to name yourself - I promise that I don't bite! I am also happy to serve as a beta-reader and have updated my profile accordingly. I am currently supporting three authors in this way. Mike, England, 22-Jul-2020 |
