Androids were created to protect their human masters, but humans were already extinct. According to the records, their creators had often contemplated questions like these. If only humans were still here, they'd probably be able to shed some light.

After the loss of a vital server cluster, the machines are moving supplies to reinforce Earth's defensive infrastructure before the humans can launch another attack. But as the convoy is passing through a forest, the convoy encounters an ambush.

Can humans be called 'gods' when they create an intellectual being close to humans, themselves? If we do create one, will those creations curse us 'gods' just like we curse our own? "Do you want to find the answer to life?" My computer asked me just before I was about to sleep. The minute I woke-up, I'm in a world that I just played and finished with all my heart.

There were other survivors from the fall of YoRHa, and two of them contemplate what they will do with there lives now.

Set after Ending E - A new challenge awaits 9S and 2B as the two androids attempt in vain to recover what was lost. Along the way, they'll discover what's left in the world after all sense of purpose has been stripped from it. And in so doing, they may perhaps discover what it means to finally be free.

Author's message: This FanFic is set after an alternate universe after ending A, with the humans actually still existing and is ready to return to earth. I took inspiration from multiple fan-fictions, credits to them, really. It has no particularly direct connection to previous NieR games or the Drakengard series, only some minor references, don't bug me on this. Also, a bit messy.

I wonder, what does it mean to feel? I wonder, what does it mean to be human? I wonder, what does it mean to live? I wonder, what does it mean to love? With her, I no longer wonder.

2B has decided to break off the vicious cycle. With 2B's desertion, 9S, fresh from personal data re-installation, was tasked by Command to find her. 9S, unknowing of Command's real agenda for 2B, searches for her. Paired with a YoRHa battle unit, will 9S catch 2B's traces alive? [2B/9S]
