Author has written 4 stories for Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Star Wars. Word of the Amateur: Greetings and a hearty welcome to this my current and modest abode on the fan fiction network and Archive of Our Own. After a long period of incessant rewriting of my only posted, though since removed, work on this site (314th's parallel and The Magical Commune), I have decided to start from scratch and rebuild these and other planned stories for release in this publication. I intend to make every use of these stories to experiment with narratives, characters and writing forms to better my skills as an aspiring writer. I hope that these and other stories, once posted, will be enjoyable to those who read them. Thank you for patronage, A Lover of Nature. About Me: As I am only actively working on Lost Fleet of the Republic for the foreseeable future, I thought I would add an entry about that story. I admit it is an odd choice to write a Sequel trilogy-Kotor crossover, and while it might have started on a whim, it's now much more than that. Kotor introduced me to Star Wars and the Sequel trilogy for better and for worse is the first Star Wars trilogy I watched in theatres as a fan. I have a love-hate relationship with both entries: While I adore the Kotor series, it also represents an incomplete trilogy superseded by The Old Republic, that while I enjoy the later game, I have a lot of problems with what it did with the Kotor material. Think of it as how an OT fan would have felt if Episode 6 happened three centuries after Episode 5, as a TV series rather then a movie, with Han Solo waking up to discover everyone he knew is dead and Luke is a mind-controlled zombie of the Emperor. For those reasons, I am a Kotor purist. I also think the fandom has a problem with identifying with the playable character as Revan rather than the personality implanted into him/her by the Jedi we actually play. I see Revan according to how I imagine him/her from what's said about him/her, mostly in Kotor 2, that says a lot about his/her military genius and leadership skills but also about his/her brutality, ego, and how the darkness started even before the Mandalorian Wars. The Sequel Trilogy, while not as important to me as Kotor, is an even stranger love-hate relationship. I think people who played and loved Kotor 2 probably understand what Last Jedi tried to do with very mixed results. I will be the first to agree that while the film is certainly not by any means the worst in the franchise, it does leave much to be desired, and in my view, did not go far enough and ultimately failed to even be a Star Wars film. Last Jedi as a concept still has a lot of unrealized potential, and though a lot of it will have to be reimagined, I aim to try and keep to its vision when I can. My aim in combining it with Kotor is to enrich the sequel trilogy with characters, locations, history, and give the Kotor series the closure it never received. Lost Fleet is thus born out of both love and creative hatred for these two stories and aims to deconstruct their flaws, improve on them, and realize their promise. If there is a story that I am going to write to the finish it is this one and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I enjoy writing it. It's going to be a rough ride of me figuring out my identity as a writer with countless screwups, but I appreciate anyone who sticks with me through it. I'd like to add a note recognizing some of my inspirations for writing this story, such as Zipang and Final Countdown, that tell stories about warships from the modern era travelling in time into the Second World War, along with Star Wars writers Drew Karpyshyn, Chris Avellone, Rian Johnson, Lawrence Kasdan, Colin Trevorrow, J.J Abrams, Dave Filoni, and last but certainly not least, George Lucas who made it all possible. Update: Rise of Skywalker will certainly play a role in Lost Fleet and its two-three planned sequels. I am in the process of adapting my ideas to it but aim to also write my own middle act before I get too deep into it, using the one-year interim between the two films for that purpose. As to how I feel about it, I loved it, and nothing will make me say a word about it in anger, but I do realize it is a highly flawed film. For that reason, I have taken an interest in the Duel of the Fates movie concept as well as my own original ideas before ROS to weave into my story along with other stuff from the new canon and the old EU. The story is currently planned to include four episodes starting with Lost Fleet. Posted Storie Harry Potter and the Children of the Circle The death of the Dursley family in a car crash in June 1991 puts the Wizarding World in a race against time to secure the boy who lived from Death Eater attacks. In the ensuing chaos, the lives of Harry Potter and Hermione Granger collide in tragedy, leaving no one to count on but each other in their new home, the Edgar Bones Home for Magical Children and its strange residents. Status: Currently on hold until I understand what the hell I am doing with it. Old Glory: Lost Fleet of The Republic The Old Republic's fleet tasked with destroying the Sith controlled Star Forge succeeds in its mission but fails to escape the ancient space station's destruction. Admiral Dodonna orders her fleet attempt an uncalculated jump to hyperspace in a desperate attempt to save her command, sending it nearly four thousand years forwards into the future. Status: I am back after a long absence! The new chapter 10 is up and my story has gone over 50,000 words! Huzzah! The current date for chapter 11 is the 28th of July 2020. |
