Author has written 2 stories for Phantom of the Opera.

And I dream too much
and I don’t write enough
and I’m trying to find God everywhere.

— Anis Mojgai, For Those Who Can Ride in an Airplane For the First Time

IMPORTANT NOTE:

A week, a month, or a year may go by but please remember that I will never, ever forget about my stories. I have every intention of finishing every single fic that I've written so far and I have no plans abandoning any of them. I will always finish what I started, even if I have not updated in a long time. Please have faith in me.

My name is Marie, nineteen years of age, and this is an alternate account of mine on this website. Which means that somewhere, I have another account lying around (it's not dead and is actually as active as this one is). For now, I'm dedicating this account to publishing a few The Phantom of the Opera ideas that have been sitting around in my head for years now. Here's to hoping I succeed in my endeavors.

My current works, Arsonist's Lullabye and Darling, Dearest, Dead, are just two of my many ideas that I've chosen to bring to life on this website. I'm one for unconventional stories that have twists so expect my stories to be such. I've a knack for versatility as you'll see with my works ― Arsonist's Lullabye is an entirely different beast from Darling, Dearest, Dead when it comes to their respective genres and themes.

Regarding the different versions of The Phantom of the Opera, I'm well aware of the shortcomings of the 2004 film and am actually slightly disinclined to like it (I have a lot of criticisms regarding the writing, make-up, and costumes), but I find that I cannot fully detest it as it was the movie that introduced me to the world of musicals (and it does have its merits, particularly the visuals and the acting). As a result, it will always have a place in my heart. My favorite version would have to be the 25th anniversary though which features Ramin Karimloo and Sierra Boggess. I'm looking forward to watching the 1990 miniseries since I've heard nothing but praise for it (also, Charles Dance is an absolutely sweetheart). As for the books, I started reading Leroux's some time ago but I stopped for some reason I could no longer remember. I plan on picking up the book again on the first chance I get, then I plan on reading Kay's Phantom afterwards.

In my works, I tend to not fully stick to one version of Erik. I combine the different backgrounds and traits of the Phantom from different versions, often incorporating Kay's version of Erik's history into my stories along with the characteristics of Merik (Musical!Erik/Ramin Karimloo), Gerik (Gerard Butler), and Cherik (Charles Dance) into one amalgamation. Much of my characterization of Erik is done with help from a Tumblr blog, askthephantom-blog-blog, who I believe has done a stellar job at portraying the Phantom in their roleplays. However, regarding the appearance of Erik in my works, I always see Ramin Karimloo in my head, but if you choose to see someone else, it's perfectly fine with me!

My update schedule varies, depending on the months. During summer vacation, frequent updates can be expected, but during the days where I have classes, there will only be little to no updates at all. At the moment, I am in college so updates during school season cannot always be promised.

I am open to criticism as long as it is done politely, constructively, and not insultingly.

I hope to share with all of you the stories I have weaved, and I hope you all enjoy the ride. Good day!
