Author has written 11 stories for Harry Potter. Alrighty, we're doing a quick remodel of the profile. Our inspiration will be near the bottom, and in case you miss it, we're posting two copies of the works in progress. We're also going to have a news section that we will update once a week so that you can try and monitor our progress. News: 6/2/08~ Of Unspoken Wounds has been deleted and is going through a remodel to be put up in the next few months. THR is to be updated this week, so look for a new update on that on Friday. That's all there is this week, and sorry for not updating this for over a month- school's a biatch. 4/20/08~ Ash here. I updated the chapter, and you'll notice that it's horrifically long. Well... that was because I couldn't fit all the stuff I wanted into the last chapter, so some of it made it's way into the new one. Update next week we hope. See ya. 4/12/08~ Al here. Well well, lookie here! There's an update on this site with a new chapter of the newest story that we're posting. The next chapter is finished, and will be up next week. Chapter six is in the works, and it is almost done. After this, there will be a slight break, so you might not get another chapter for two weeks after the chapter next week so that Ash can finish finish a major paper for her english class. If she does get it done, I'll put it up for her. See you all next week. 4/5/08~ Update on Saturday again. The Whitest Rose is updated again, Al is working on a revision of another chapter, and hopes to have it out next week along with another new chapter of TWR. TWR is currently 60 done, hoping to have 70-75 of it done by this time next week, if not further along by then. Chapters are going to be longer for a while, so expect those as well. See you next week. 3/29/08~ We updated a full day early! The chapter is finally, up, and just so you know, there's another three chapters ready to be put up. the story is over half written. 3/23/08~ Happy easter all! This is Ash with the newest update on the account, and there is a new story posted! It's a WIP (don't groan at us) called The Whitest Rose and I'm looking forward to the development of the story. The prologue is currently posted and the next two chapters are written with a third in the progress. The story will be ten chapters long, as I've been informed, so do not fret. It is shorter than the others, and it is planned out, unlike most of the other works. That's all for this update, look for a new chapter and a new update next sunday or monday. WORKS IN PROGRESS! Of Unspoken Wounds: Currently taken down for remodeling- will return as soon as possible. To Show Change: This story is on a temporary hold until TWR is completed, and then Ash will get back to work on this one. She has some of it planned and will work on it in a few weeks after her brain gets tired of TWR. The Whitest Rose: The newest creation of this profile. Ashley is working diligently on this fiction and hopes to have it done in a couple weeks. Ten chapters including Prologue and Epilogue. Our inspiration: They're all quotes that we found on the same site and decided to post on here. Well, here they are: “The Author must keep his mouth shut when his work begins to speak.” “If a story is in you, it has to come out.” “Only a mediocre writer is always at his best.” “You don’t even have to leave your room. Remain sitting at your table and listen. Do not even listen, simply wait. Do not even wait, be still and solitary. The world will freely offer itself to you unmasked, it has no choice, it will roll in ecstacy at your feet.” “Talent if a question of quanity. Talent does not write one page; it writes three hundred.” “If you are having difficulties with a book, try the element of surprise: attack it at an hour when it wasn’t expecting it.” “Easy reading is damned hard writing.” “We do not write in order to be understood, we write in order to understand.” “There are three rules for writing a novel. Unfortunately, no one knows what they are.” “To be a writer is to throw away a great deal, not to be satisfied, to type again, and then again and once more, and over and over.” “Only connect.” “Anything we fully do is an alone journey.” “As a writer you are free. You are the freest person that ever was. Your freedom is what you have brought with your solitude, your loneliness." “I was always my own teacher.” “I never had any doubts about my abilities. I knew I could write. I just had to figure out how to eat while doing this.” “Every book is the wreck of a perfect idea.” “You write a book and it’s like putting a message in a bottle and throwing it in the ocean. You don’t know if will ever reach any shores. And there, you see, it sometimes falls in the hands of the right person.” “Borges said we go on writing the same story all our lives. The trouble is, It is usually a story that can never be told.” “If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is, infinite.” “The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science.” “Ever tried? Ever failed? No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.” “What ever you can do, or dream you can do begin it; "To believe your own thought, to believe what is true for you, in your private heart is true for all men-- that is genius." "True artists, whatever smiling faces they may show you, are obsessive, driven people." "The problem is when you're not writing you don't know if you're in a fallow, or if you'll just never write again." "There is no pleasure like writing well and going fast. It's like nothing else. It's like a love affair, ti goes on and on and it doesn't end in marriage. It's all courtship." "The imagination is not subject to the will of the artist. To accept the fruits as gifts is to acknoweldge that we are not their owners or masters, that we are, if anything, their servants, their ministers." "Nintey percent of the work of writing is internal, only ten percent happens at the type writer." "It's nervous work. The state you need to write in is what others are paying large sums to get rid of." "Writers don't write from experience, though many are restraint to admit that they don't. I want to be clear about this. If you work from experience, you'd get maybe one book, maybe three poems. Writers write from empathy." "A story is like something you wind out of yourself. Like a spider, it is a web you weave, and you love your story like a child." "Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under the trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time." "I don't wait for moods. You accomplish nothing if you do that. Your mind must know it has to get down to work." "The best part about writing is stopping." "Writers kid themselves-- about themselves and other people. Take the talk about writing methods. Writing is work-- there's no secret. If you dictate, use a pen, type, or type with your toes-- it's just work." "It's a messy business. You wind up with shoe boxes of scrap paper." "If you wait for inspiration, your not a writer, but a waiter." "Creativity is a continuous surprise." "Writing is the only thing that when I'm doing it, I don't feel like I should be doing something else instead." "My whole interest is in the act of writing itself." "A writer's job is to imagine everything so personally that the fiction is as vivid as memories." "I work continously whith in the shadow of failure. For every novel that makes it to my publisher's desk, there are at least five or six that died on the way." "I would rather be attacked than unnoticed. For the worst thing you can do to an author is to be as silent as his work." "Any writer overwhelmingly honest about pleasing himself is almost sure to please others." "Not to have an audience is a kind of death." "Anyone who has a choice and doesn't choose not to write is a fool... The work is hard, the perks are few, the pay is terrible, and the product, when it's finally finished, is pure joy." "When writers die, they become books, which is, after all, not too bad an incarnation." "It's hard to get from almost finished as to get from beginning to almost done." "The qualities that make a true artist are nearly the same qualities that make a true athlete." "Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than the unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated relicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent." "The voyage of discovery lies not in finding new landscapes, but in having new eyes." “Writing is a lonely life, but it is the only life worth living.” “As soon as you trust yourself, you will know how to live.” "Whatever is needed is, in the end, simply this: solitude, great inner solitude." Funny Quotes: "You have a sword. I have a frying pan, a golf club and a tennis racket. Bring it on."
