Author has written 20 stories for Transformers/Beast Wars, Exosquad, Bubblegum Crisis, Superman, Mass Effect, Mazinger Z, Gundam UC, G. I. Joe, and Challenge of the GoBots. I am STARSCREAM of the Decepticons! I decided to return seeing that the so-called purge has ended and turned out to be a big load of nothing. I tend to write crossovers, instead of straight in-universe works, I might try hand at in-universe at later time I got something in the works. Anyway, some years ago I drew up some rules of how I write crossovers due to some more than spectacular failures on my part. Here are my rules: When I formulate x-over, the ratio is 90% based in logic about 10% cool factor. Here is my thought process: 4. When merging characters from one universe with another try to create backstories for those characters that would make it logical for them to exist in the other universe Now here are some standing orders I developed when I write crossovers because it stems from either seeing certain conventions in comic books and TV. The reasons is they're so cliched its not even funny and for me because when such conventions employed the crossover almost seemed forced and almost formulatic. Starscream's tips of fanfiction writing: These are what I've developed over the years based various indiscretions on my part as a writer 1. Self-Inserts. There are some who can pull it off with great effect. But self inserts (or mary/gary-sues) should be avoid at all costs since all objectivity goes right down the toilet. 2. Manuscripts. As a general rule I don't go straight to my computer and start typing (unless it's a generally short story and the idea is fresh in my mind.) I always write out a handwritten manuscripts and make changes when necessary as I'm typing. 3. Outline. For most of my fics, especially if is a series following a specific storyline, I tend to a outline where I want to go with the series such as my ExoSquad/Gundam xover 4. Research. Never start a fic bindly, always do the proper research and development. Now for some my favorite anime/cartoons 1. Transformers, mainly G1 and Prime. Not a big fan of Animated. Hadn't had enough exposure to Armada, Superlink or Galaxyforce. 2. Science Ninja Team Gatchaman 3. Uchuu No Kishi Tekkaman 4. Bubblegum Crisis, the original not 2040 5. Gundam, even though I tolerate 00, even though I do grow tired of the sullen, depressed pretty boy crap! 6. GI Joe 7. Avengers Earth Mightiest Heroes 8. Golion 9. Dairugger XV 10. Black Lagoon, face it kids; Revy just kicks ass 11. Rocky and Bullwinkle, it took me about 20 years to finally get the jokes! 12. Mobile Police Patlabor 13. Batman TAS 14. Justice League TAS 15. Superman TAS My Favorite games 1.TIE Fighter 2. Dark Souls/Demon Souls 3. Metal Gear franchise 4. Mega Man franchise 5. Ace Combat 5 6. Batman: Arkham Asylum/City 7. MechCommander Gold 8. Mass Effect Favorite Movies (in no particular order) 1. Patton 2. The Longest Day 3. Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan 4. The Adventures of Robin Hood, Warner Bros 1938 to avoid confusion 5. The Avengers (Marvel) 6. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy 7. Rio Bravo 8. El Dorado 9. Gojira 10. Blazing Saddles 11. The D.I. 12. It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World 13. The Man Who Came to Dinner 14.
